Over the weekend, we saw the Oliver Stone movie
Nixon. Twice.
It makes you wonder how accurate Stone's portrayal of Nixon really was. If he really was the hard-drinking, foul-mouthed paranoid man, searching for
love and acceptance.
According to the movie, Nixon met with men
the night before the assassination, in Texas. We really got the idea that these men were behind the
killing. Unfortunately, "they" were a composite, so no name to blame.
The movie also makes you think "they" killed RFK to get Nixon in the WH
But, Nixon was kinda on the fringe, not really aware of their murderous
intentions.
There's also a scene where Hoover sounds like he has way more power than he needed and was involved in who was in the WH.
Another scene has Nixon, in a frenzy, deciding to delete those famous minutes from the WH tapes.
