The Chattanooga Times Free Press is reporting that Hamilton County Sheriff's Office deputies will soon begin using a PlateScan system that checks license plates for stolen vehicles and felony warrants.
"The technology is phenomenal," Lt. Charles Lowery Jr. told the newspaper. He oversees the department's traffic division. "It'll eliminate the accusation of profiling because it's scanning so many different plates."
