a member found this site from the thread about the phoenix rising crop circle circlemakers

looking at their work, now makes me very suspicious of any crop circle coming out these days.

Personally, I think they should put they trademark on the circle to help the community distinguish btwn the real deal and the fake.

but..that wouldn't generate as much $$ as it should...

I don't know if they still have the pages on-line, but it was on that site that I read that some strange things happen during the night, while they make the circles.

interesting. what's interesting about this site is, they don't really go into much detail since it's about advertising $$$.

Below is the link is Nancy Talbott's personal report of the Discovery's episode...Talbott's report

I saw this video just last year and watch it whenever I have the chance. As a up and coming organizational investigative researcher in to such things, I always try and use this experiment as a benchmark when attempting to study various unexplainable issues. (if that makes any sense)

Here's a video and a full explanation in the side bar of the research conducted by the MIT students.

Nancy has definitely done her work.

Here's some of her point she makes on her report mentioned above which I thought were excellent!

In the actual TV show, aired first on the Discovery Channel on October 10, 2002, a clip is included showing the group testing their "home-made" (MIT-lab made) equipment on a paved area near some of the farm's out-buildings.

Suddenly, there is an equipment malfunction. Not quite as exciting as a wardrobe malfunction, perhaps, but one of the two most interesting moments in the show.

The microwave generator sprang a leak and the TV camera, which was shooting from directly behind the generator, immediately cut out. Voila! On-camera evidence that microwaves dispersing in the immediate vicinity of electronic equipment cause malfunction.

There was one other curious -- even scary -- event.

Included in the show later on is a clip showing the TV crew in a small airplane, circling the now-completed crop circle in the field below. As has also been very occasionally reported by authentic crop circle investigators (in particular Busty Taylor, a UK pilot who has been locating and photographing English crop formations for many years) the plane engine suddenly cuts out altogether for a few seconds at no more than 1000 ft. in the air, putting the pilot and TV crew in real danger.

The above statement of equipment malfunction is what we saw on our first investigation of the Gilliland Ranch just 3 weeks ago; total battery drainage within 90mins of arrival even though we did a through equipment checkout before we left.

Good points you rase .

I had read some where that the first crop circles were discovered in the 17th century? Truly fascinating .

Edit to add ... there were some smart talented people back then so the possibility can't be ruled out simply because of the date , but very interesting none the less .

What I don't understand about the above quote, is if crop circles were being made as early as the 17th century, then how were they seen? Seeing as 99% of them can only be properly seen from the air, wouldn't it have been a waste of time?

Or am I missing something.

Although that particular crop circle is odd...It in no way rules out the possibility of it being man made.

This is the most convincing crop 'circle' I've seen to date, the shading in the face and the binary code has always had me in awe since the first time I saw it.

I like the message on the CD.
"We oppose disception"
I like "May the force be with you."

Very easily, if you've ever been in a large field and decided to flatten an area of it ~ in any shape, then once you're at the perimeter of that shape it's easy to discern you're on the edge of a circle, square, triangle etc... there almost certainly was no way of viewing these things aerially in the 17th century, but I'd hazard a guess that any regular shape that was well crafted would be arousing attention in a peasant-farmer

Hope this doesn't sound patronizing, but I'm drunk, sorry.

it is often the simple looking ones that have the most meaning. some are man made most are not. they are speaking to us are we listening?

I always liked this one, even though people like to chew it up. This one was found in SETI's back yard...

Oh yes, there have been many, which are obvious failed man made attempts, and which make the complex ones seem even more amazing!

there were several others from last year, but I didn't bother saving a copy of them as they were so messed up.
