I guess we agree then, if my post adequately explains how it could be just pareidolia, that's great :] and indeed I don't mean to say that it is. I only wanted to show how&why it's possible.

Well since humans are born with pattern recognition I do not see how that could not apply... However, anyone coming across that native face for the first time without prior knowledge or preparation sees a native face with an Ipod

Why? Because we know what a native face and an Ipod look like...

Btw, I guess the part about the horse wasn't written too well, but this is the kind of drawing I mean (and I don't mean to imply anything about the OP's image with it!
)

Came across just fine I just didn't find one in time like that, even checked out ink blots but could not find a horsey
Not bad, even got the back leg bent right, but you forgot to mention the rider with the sword
and the reins are a bit over done

Thanks both for all the kindness, I have been a bit too defensive I guess/I hope. And for what it's worth, I do like most of the images - even though I do believe they are just incredible anomalies .. that's good enough for me. Amazing nonetheless!

Well I got one for ya to look at...

And then a small test for everyone. If you have seen this before on my thread just sit this one out

Here is my favorite anomaly, well actually my second favorite... Its a favorite because its clear in the available original file from NASA (just takes a moment to find it
)

Now here is my test... this one is very easy, but I would like the 'its only rock' people to really look at it and tell me what they see...

Paredolia? No image analysis 101... training the mind to understand what the eye seed. The Military pays top dollar for people who have this ability down pat.

As a further illustration here is an old WWII image. Looking at that image how may of you would be able to see the rocket and the trailer that are pinpointed and identify themas such? Be honest now

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/0f4b9ef55d57.jpg[/atsimg]

The point is many people do have an ability to spot things that most can not. Calling them crazy because you can't see it is what is crazy. What one calls simply paredolia, someone else calls a trained eye and pays them a good salary... what one calls a blurry image and sees nothing, another looks at it and sees rockets and launch trailers and the RAF uses that info to bomb the crap out of them (this image is of the Peenemünde rocket test site Caption Royal Air Force reconnaissance photograph of V-2 rockets at Peenemünde Test Stands I and VII June 12 1943 )

Here is the test image

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/75a79b17ade1.png[/atsimg]

Now then... what did you see in my test image? Please U2U to give everyone a chance

...then I would say they are most likely sand dunes that lie in narrow ravines or narrow valleys between mountains, such as this:

Or they could be these... after all Mars was flooded once...

I find the Martian 'fossil' images extremely interesting. I have trouble rectifying some of the organic structures found amongst unremarkable rock as being simply rock - or chance of nature.

I'm not saying that they are definitely fossils but they do spike my interest. How about starting a thread on what you consider to be the most intriguing Martian 'fossil' images Z?

A long time ago... in a Galaxy not that far away... I posted three threads to prove a point...

I , like Mike , was repeatedly accused of sensational headlines to grab attention... that I should do more serious reports...

So I did these three threads...

Two sensationalist headline questions

Alternative 3's Base on Mars Discovered?
www.abovetopsecret.com...

A Herd of Martian Creatures?
www.abovetopsecret.com...

They took of like wild fire 5 pages, multiple flags and stars in the first day

And I posted a serious thread... and I even linked anyone who gave me flak over the other two to this thread. But even though it got three applauses , it only got to page one in the same time frame

That thread was...

Fossils on Mars - A Collection of Evidence

Consider it BUMPED!

However, it is interesting to note that it died a sudden death the second vze2xjjk started posting his bogus pictures. That does tend to happen whenever he gate crashes a thread.

To everyone else reading this thread, go check out Zorgons on Martian Fossiles. Then Flag and Star the mutha!

Jeez, really? Thats like looking at a tile with a design on it and seeing a face.

Come on man, you could pick anything out of random patterns, especially on Mars, because you really WANT to see something.

This would be the 2nd or 3rd pointless thread created by marsorbust, and again he's pointing out a rock that looks like an alien, but it is obviously a natural formation.

Kid, look at the sky and you'll see the same. You evolved from hunters. You are instinctively driven to seek familiar items in the most alien of places because that's the way your brain works. It's not aliens, it's your own evolution.

jeez, I must have done it on 3 threads on how humanoid aliens are silly and improbable. What you just did lowers the likelihood ever more. If that was an alien, he's probably a few hundred feet tall.

No kid, just no. Stop trying to point out faces in random images unrelated to what you are trying to prove. You're just looking more and more like a troll

How can you be so blind and not figure out that life is abundant on Mars? Think how Mars cooled before Earth by...oh a wild guess... half a billion years or so,giving Mars life a head start over any life on Earth.Mars is smaller than Earth and farther from the sun,so it cooled down faster than Earth. If 50 to a hundred very talented board veterans see different faces and Martians in the same panorama pic,it gives us a sense of purpose and discovery. It's like Charles Darwin in the Galopogos Islands finding new species. We all come to the table with different training ,experience ,preconceptions, misconceptions, skills, interests ,agendas. What a shame if you never get to see what Mars women look like.

You'd probably just rather see a Mars Snake than a Martian woman.Ok,have it your way...

I never said Mars had no life. I simply said that the probability of life being humanoid or anything like Earth is a failure of both science and logic.

Mars makes methane. The only way methane is made is through geological activity or life. Guess which one Mars doesn't have?

The fact is that the humanoid form is a failure in everything except mental powers and spear hunting. There are dozens of critters on Earth with higher-than-average intelligences but not humanoid shapes.

As to the Mars Snake, what's the scale of that image?

Also a snake wouldn't live on Mars. Too cold, too brittle soil, and too little water.

Wanna know what you'd find on Mars? here, I drew it for you just now.

img14.imageshack.us...

This creature uses moss that grows on it to breath and eats those palm tree-like things in photos. It's nostrils are near it's legs. Air is sucked into a large lung on it's bottom. This sack provides the moss on it with food. The plants in turn pump the O2 they make into vacuoles you see on it's shoulder and hip. Here, o2 enters the blood, and is then transferred to the fins for warmth on this cold world. The plant will reproduce by sending roots out and growing both sexually and asexually. The fat is also food for the plants, and the plants act like fur for the creature. The creature has a tusk for puncturing plants, and a large sucker like on octopus for sucking of the juices within. The creature then walks on. The creature also produces methane through... obvious means, which is also food for bacterium within. These bacterium clean the fur-plants of disease, eject food products of it, and take waste from the plants as their own food.

This is a 3-way symbiotic relationship, not counting all the other bacteria within.

This is the most logical creature to come about on Mars. Not anything like on Earth. Earth has standards for creatures to evolve into. Change the standards, and you change the life. This creature, eons ago when Mars had water, was like a camel, walking and looking for water and food. Since then it has evolved the humps into active sites for the fur plants and bacteria. The creature still sores water like a camel, but most of this is to feed the plants and is stored in the fat reserves.

Ok,you haven't seen enough to get it right yet. You are getting warmer though.
These are all live Mars creatures except for the Egyptian style "Mars Man" carving on a cliff.

Here's what I found searching through Africa. They're all just rocks.

Everything but the Mars Man looks like rocks. The Mars man looks interesting, but anything made of rock would have long been eroded away. Earth's rock work is already nearly gone. All that stand in good condition are the pyramids. Stuff on Mars would last longer? With such fine grains?
