Youre right but I think the double standard come in to play when our Presidents are expected to take a stand on Religion.

I was surprised when Bush said he didnt take the Bible literally.

I didnt see Obama's hand on the Bible during his second more private oath of office.

I really can not take that seriously.

HOWEVER - - my motto is - "If they are visible - they are not running the world".

Does that really matter?

I find it amusing that most Republican/Conservative chastise this "he didn't use a bible"

So what? There's a double standard when it comes to anything politics, especially when religious nuts like republicans come swinging their bibles telling everyone else how to run thier lives.

Here's how it goes in this case:

Religious loony zealots chastise obama for not "swearing in on a bible" the SECOND time, but they themselves do not, in any manner what so ever, conduct themselves in a proper Christian form.

I doubt they go to Church "All the time", i doubt they never covet. I mean i could go on and on.

Is there a double standard for presidents talking about their faith?

Sure there is. In this country at least. Why? Because it's the presidents job to become a man of the people. Not a man of Christianity.

If you can't see it that way - then that's a probelm you'll have to live with i'm afraid.

What i wana know is why is it alright for our presidents to state there faith, talk about god,and in forinstance obamas mid east speech, fill it up with religius overtones.Yet it isnt allright for the normal everyday person to state the same things in school, or buissness or all the places that lawsuites and denile of god is pervasive in the name of seperation of church and state.
Our leaders can say they belive in god to the whole world, and recite scripture, but a student in collage cant say the same kinda of thing in a graduation speeche. It realy such a sham, the seperation of state equals the seperation of moral and inmoral, all our leaders know this and use religon to reflect upon the mass's there moral standing, but in the end the are part of a immoral system.

This one I agree with you on.

But I do lean towards the PNAC being real - - that a president - - is only a figure head to create a single focus and appease the majority. That the real power is a group.

I like your motto! Ive tried to get others to see that fact about shadow governments and they must think I'm nuts. They want to believe what they learned in life is true. I guess I dont blame them.

Fear!

Moving yourself outside the circle of belonging and protection - - requires Risk.

Many people prefer their little cocoons of safety. They Don't Want to Know the Truth!
