war is good for business,, huh???

that good ole tag line "war is good for business." look i get the part steel is bought for equipment , weapons etc etc. some businesses related to wartime is enhanced.

but someone has to pay for it,,,,, mainly the gov't and eventually we, the people

war creates a huge bill,,,,, so how is it good for business,,,, as in they infer that it's good for everyone as a whole--business wise or financially

granted some business is enhanced,,,, but as a percentage i can't see it being that significant to back that statement up

that end bill has to outweigh the latter

do other countries chip in on the war tab we have incured????

i only see us giving out money to other countries???


some say war could bring us out of this current mess??? how,,,, we would only incur more debt?? enlighten me if needed

i guess i can see the short term benefits,,,, and both sides of the argument

so i'm looking for some input or how others may see this ,,, some insight



and believe me,,, i see how war is good for haliburton, kbr, blackwater etc

but how is it good for me,,, or you,,,,, or the troops that die making that "good business"

that takes some balls to even say that tagline,,,,,,"sorry bout your dead kid,,, but war is good for business!!!!" come on!!!!


ps----and does the US actually recieve any aid from other countries???? does anyone have any figures or data on that????

War has always been good business for the elite.
They make the money and bear none of the risk, like the rest of us poor slobs.
War is good for something else too. Almost indistinguishable from business.
Religion. Throughout history, there have been more wars instigated over religion than anything else. And just like a business, the spoils go to the dealers, from both sides, winner and looser.
Why not sell to both sides? It's good business.
And also, lets not forget, it's GOD'S will.

Oh, goodness! How well I recall these sort of discussions during the Viet Nam conflict. I worked at an upscale restaurant and I heard plenty of talk from diners proclaiming how the war was helping our economy in the U.S. I wanted to just puke sometimes. If I was the same person then, that I am today, I just might have actually puked in one of these a**holes laps.

Also, don't forget, that the Military Industrial Complex is a huge employer. Keeping people employed is a big part of having a good economy. Having the MIC system kept in good order, also means that your country will have very good arms, and can sell those to it's allies. There is also the issue of resources. Some wars will be about acquiring the best access to those, which will benefit the country. Something else that can happen, is counties tend to set up systems in counties they invade, like reconstruction, where businesses can profit even once the invader has withdrawn. In the long term, if you nation build correctly, or install the correct dictator, you may also open trade where you had none before.

Those are some of my ideas anyway, and some talking points I've heard.

I'm no big fan of war myself, just have heard a few arguments in my time.
