The Guidestones have been discussed by many, yet there is no definitive answer to: who built them and why.
As present world events unfold, i.e: financial turmoil and ruin, and recently the emergence of H1N1 (Swine Flu), the end of the Mayan calendarand the impending date of Dec.21st 2012; there is the feeling of quickening toward somekind of reckoning.
Does this relate to the warnings announced on the Georgia Guidestones?
the first principle eluded to by the stones is :
1) Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.

There are 9 other concepts engraved on the stones, this is probably the most sobering; for how do they plan to get rid of a lot of people- maybe the creation of new viruses, enter Swine & the W.H.O!!!!
Is this a over-reactive conspiral view, or have the stones been put there as a warning for those that care to take notice???

No. You're not over-reacting. The stones are clearly an obvious warning for those that care to take notice.
But also no, I don't believe it's the W.H.O., but it's obviously some big organisation that's definately got it's finger in the W.H.O. infrastructure, and in the infrastructure of every other major-influencing organisation and government on the planet. I'd wager that it's the Bilderberg Group.
Those guidestones say some ominous sounding things, but there's no doubt that they display wisdom and commonsense. If the world was to live by what the guidestones say, I believe it would be a better place. The population below 500 million is sure a big drop from the 6.5 billion of today, but it doesn't nessessarily have to happen by way of a big kill-off. Well established breeding programs and selective fertility procedures could help to bring our population down to a level that's more agreeable with the planet.

I have always taken the Guidestones as a warning. I believe the money behind them came from secret societies, which ones I have no idea. I think the things on the stones, the "advice" came from an earlier civilization, perhaps Atlantis, or Mu. An intriguing monument, to be sure. It does have that "new world order" stamp about it, doesn't it?

Hi Auto, I have no doubt they are a warning; but a warning from you???
The first principle has got me wondering, (I think the Swine Flu is hinestly crap); is this how they plan to get rid of a big slice of world population?
Maybe swine, avian, equine etc are really attempts for them to 'get it right'. Or maybe its an exercise to see peoples complacency, so they can gauge how far to ' push the envelope'.
but then again, maybe these viruses are inconsequentual; the real culprit of government sactioned death will come in the very pharmaceuticals that they push as antidotes.
Here are some interesting Vids and an article- for those that haven't witnessed the entity of the guidestones before.

It seems someone in congress doesn't like the graffiti
