ok i really do have to chim in here. we are all Gods? Gods that have no
idea where they come from and without the slightest clue where thier
going. sorry but that shouldn't be anybodys idea of a God or Gods.
atheists have to look at all the design around them and convince thierselves there is no Designer. just exactly how do you do that everyday?

How does one define trolling?

Well, in the old, old days of the Internet, before pictures and stuff, the whole point of trolling was to highlight what an enormous geek somebody was by getting them to argue over some purposely incorrect statement about something very trivial. One of the most used was to say that James T. Kirk's middle name was "Thomas." Just off-handedly drop it as if you didn't know any better, then see how many people would jump in to correct you, thereby proving their utter geekitude.

Just posting a provocative statement to rile people up isn't really trolling, as far as I'm concerned. It's just being a dope.

I decided there was no God after reading the first page of the bible, when God created the Earth and Heavens and said let there be light. The sun is 4.57 billion years old and the Earth is 4.54 billion years old, so how can He have created light AFTER Earth's creation.

Ha!!!!! That's like deciding that ice cream must be bad because I read a bad review about it, written by a lactose intolerant.

I would never make a huge decision such as that because of an abstraction.

Wow!!! I still luv ya, but wow!!!

No it isn't. It's like seeing that the Bible is just plain wrong on the first count, so why bother even reading the second?

Religion. Can't live with it cant live without eh?

It is funny listening to Atheists whine isn't it. They fervently scream that there is no God when the evidence is everywhere. Life, the Universe, and everything simply makes no sense without one. If you don't believe in a God of some kind then you have to ask the question. "What is the point of it all anyway?" You are an appendix. An aberration. Dust that will eventually return to dust. Life makes no sense without the thought that you are a part of a larger design. And to believe in a larger design is to believe there was a designer. And to look at the world and Universe at large is to see that a designer was involved in it.

Evolution? In a Universe where the natural tendency is toward Entropy? It makes no sense. At best life should never have gone past the pond scum stage.

Atheism? Now there is a leap of faith.

Actually, what is really different about athiests as opposed to christians by definition?

en.wikipedia.org...

Atheism is the position that deities do not exist, or the rejection of theism. In the broadest sense, it is the absence of belief in the existence of deities.

So you see the only definable difference is that athiests don't believe in dieties, meaning that they don't believe that GOD is a man or better yet Jesus. So like I said before, theres a grey area. Because obviously this does not pertain to any beliefs about creation or the actual design in which life is created which could be left to ones own personal interpretation or belief. The only thing athiests would believe then is that there are not these supernatural dieties who are in control of destiny.

Thats pretty open minded if you ask me. It just says, you know what we are not taking a stance on what GOD is until further evidence is presented that can actually be proven. Whats wrong with that?

Just cause they don't accept things from a theists point of view, doesn't necessarily mean they don't believe in GOD, just not in the form of a diety.

I don't consider myself athiest nor do I consider myself a creationist and thats exactly why. I do believe in GOD, but I do not believe that GOD is a man or a diety. I believe that GOD is love and love is consciescness and consciencness is what binds light with dark and allows us to percieve things as physical, with sight, sound, touch, smell and taste. Humans embody both the light and dark and that is what gives us our physical apearance.

My favorite example is the Mandelbrot Set which is probably the closest thing we have to actually understanding what GOD is. And if you think that Jesus was responsible for all this then just remember that the man and women together have the power to create, not just man and not just woman but both man and women so if you want to give Jesus credit than you are denying your own self worth and potential. We are all gods, but most of us don't reaalize it yet. That we are all one and you should not destroy other life forms less you become a cancer of the earth. Because we all depend on each other and our eco-habitat to survive.

But then you are not an atheist. You are agnostic. Bit of a difference in the terms.

Yes well I am sometimes called an athiest but that was the opoint I was about to make.

Sometimes it is easier to explain to someone that I am athiest, even though I am not.

I think of athieism as word that basically says that you are not interested in discussing religion with people, just really a good way of avoiding unwanted conversation.

I've never even had anyone adequately define what this "God" is I'm supposed to believe in, so it's doubtful that I do. How can I believe in something that even the people who believe in it don't know what they're even talking about?

If you would, read this one page on this link. It is a different view and to me makes perfect sense.
www.beliefnet.com...

There is knowledge out there, all you need to do is look for it with an open mind.

If your gonna take "God's" existence into consideration, why would you start and start with the Bible?

You ave a multitude of religions, personal experiences, NDE's, OBE's, people claiming enlightenment, meditators who have certain sections of the brain light up in scans which non-meditators don't have, etc.

There are authors who have reconciled god w/ science, David Bohm is one example. All of this is tons of evidence way beyond just reading the bible.
