Soccer Fans Retaliate Against Cop Brutality.

When a soccer fan runs onto the field he is stopped by security. But when an officer begins hitting him in the head repeatedly, the fans become enraged, serve their form of justice.

Man, that was brutal! How scary would that be though, one guy on the ground with a group of people kicking and punching him? He had it coming though, jabbing a guy with a night stick for running onto a field is definitely uncalled for. Hopefully cops will see this and think twice before getting violent with a non-violent offender, at least in a big crowd. Im not, however, against cops being rough, but only when its needed.

Man, cops just don't seem to get it do they? It's nice to see people sticking up for themselves. What's almost as upsetting as the police brutality (which disgustingly enough I have come to expect) is that if you watch closely, you'll see one cop try to stop his animal of a partner. As soon as the crowd swarms over them, the cop doing the beating runs away, while the one who tried to restrain him is left to his own devices and takes a hell of a beating. Bloody coward.

Fans shouldn't step on the pitch. It's for very good reasons. Crowd control is paramount. It's not a 'police brutality' issue, or a personal freedom issue. It's a 'let's stay safe' issue for players and supporters.

Yep, and beating on non-violent offenders is the only way to get the message across.

What about hillsborough eh? Were the fans safer when they were left to be crushed to death in the stalls ( as a result of police negligence).

Its football hooliganism, and - as someone who has been in the middle of more than one situation like that in his lifetime - anyone trying to glorify it is, at best, woefully misguided.

Tell you whats sicker, people watching that and enjoying it, from any angle.

I don't think anyone is saying that kicking the crap out of anyone is a good thing, cop or otherwise. But running across the pitch does not engender violence. Beating on a person does. And as I pointed out, it was the cop doing the beating who ran away the fastest. It's unfortunate that the good cop bore the brunt of the crowds fury.

What people do enjoy is seeing justice served, even if it is mob justice. When the supposed purveyors of justice commit a crime, and publicly at that, this reaction is the only one that can be expected. Though I suppose they could have peacefully written a stern letter to the police force.

Simply soccer hooliganism? Maybe. But that might not be such a bad thing. As I recall it was Polish soccer hooliganism that helped overthrow the communist regime in that country. Maybe now the police will show some restraint when dealing with these hooligans, and perhaps even follow the laws they are charged with upholding.

Nobody can see what the idiot is doing as he is on the ground and the camera only shows his feet. He could be trying to reach or have his hands on the belts of one of the cops and they are trying to get his hand loose. I don't think he was being hit in the head at all. He gets up, grabs his sign and continues to run like a damn fool.

You people who excuse this mob mentality are pathetic. As long as its happening to a cop you don't give a crap. You people (yes I am using a blanket term on purpose) care more about the supposed brutality(that you can't even see) then the well being of those trying to keep order.

Yeah, I really would appreciate a good beat down. It's exactly what I need with an attitude like mine. Perhaps I'll run across the field at a sporting event. That should get me a beat down right? Maybe I'll even try to protect myself, that would surely justify a beating. And shame on anyone who might come to my aid. After all, the police would only be trying to protect them from me and my super fast running.

referee's and players alike have been killed on the pitch by so-called fans in south america.

Idiots like that should be banned from entering the ground - it's people like that who cause trouble and endanger others.

The result of him doing something idiotic was a general melee with security (pretty sure they're security, not cops) endangering the players, staff and match officials, and in all likelihood spilling over outside the satdium with drunken thugs assaulting anyone within reach.

Now, whilst the actions of the police were bang out of order, the action of the crowd is too. That was a great oppertunity to gain the moral ground, by practicing a non violent restraint. But I guess hyped up angry fans aren't going to be thinking like that.

One thing I will say, it's the kind of karma that makes you do a little guilty smile.
