What do you mean by our apparent proximity? And though the majority of my writings are an expression of my own life, the m16 one was not. As you would note the M16 isn't even the service rifle of our military any longer, and I sure as hell don't need one. Unnerving....If I caused any emotional reaction I'm proud!

Oh, I see. The poems were not in any way directed at you or any other person. I often click reply just to make a quick post. I would never ever write about a gun when writing to a person. That is wrong in my opinion to do something like that as these tings can be taken seriously.

so - even though this wasn't meant for me, I still reply:

spots bled fore of head
third eye sees in infrared
visible trouble

soon far summer rails
each season balks at passing
old dinners, new worms

bones soaked in freezing
asphalt kissing white away
grey to the marrow

some thin miles fly high
gold jelly rolls eating sky
soaked in sticky sun

all living runs wild
rides tall on singing horses
feel our chivalry

funny monkeys all
to the call feel them scrambling
small smiles move the trees

the first one was tongue in cheek - but it's very hard to see our tongues in our cheeks in here sometimes

the rest are just nature poems

the last 3 are absolutely chirpy!

Using the beautiful form of Haiku to express political ideology just seems wrong somehow. I think a limerick would be more appropriate. That's just me though.
