Respect and appreciation from this army brat too. Please remember the families of our vets and active duty as well. I'm honoring my mother and all the courage she showed as an army/infantry wife. RIP, dad.

For most Americans, memorial day is a day to cook out with family and friends, it also signals opening of pools and outdoor facilities for the summer. For me (and many many many) it is a day of remembrance, and a day to honor all of those who, serve, have served, and more importantly, those who mad the ultimate sacrifice so that we may enjoy the freedoms that we enjoy. My personal thanks goes out to all who have donned any United States military uniform, those who even now wear it proudly and most of all to those who drew their last breath in the name of freedom.

Yes, the vets and the families of the vets and fallen soldiers have my utmost respect.

Remembering all those who have lost their lives serving and praying for the ones who have served and still are.

The price of freedom is high and in these times we should be especially thankfull for what freedom we do have left.

My hat's off to you fallen soldier and thank you for your sacrifice so that I may be free! God bless the U.S.A Some gave all!

ehm and what freedom is that? All you do is pretend to be the world police, not actully helping anyone, except in the ww2.
..let me see..who got free from the vietnam war? tell me that..Im so tired of people like yourself praising the f*cking army. War has never done anything good to anyone, and your army just makes it ahole lot worse than it already is.

Another war anyone? Iraq? Who got free from that war? Tell me..

The only onces I'm feeling sorry for is the poor bastard that had to joine the army back in the days when they had no choice. Don't say thank you for making us free, couse that's bs. Thank thank them instead for sacrificing their life for a bs government who doesnt have a f*cking clue how to treat people right

Thanks to all.
disabled vet here.

But I'd like to say thanks to all the brave young people out there on the frontlines every day who volunteer to fight for us and so often don't come home.

The following is a video I watched about a year ago. It's a very special video.. Very unique and not something you easily forget.
Took me about 15 minutes to find it again but it's worth it.

www.ireport.com...

I was standing in Arlington Cemetery in V.A when a huge storm was rolling in. I noticed these Air force Airmen standing so perfectly still. As the weather took a turn for the worse, these magnificent soldiers stood there ground. I was truly amazing to see them just standing there as the winds and rain were blowing tress and power lines over. WOW..

This is actually Air Force Honor Guard.
It's a little shaky.. The audio is a little messed up now too.. (It used to be all there) But it's still really good.

My appreciation. On most boards and blogs, for whatever reason, veterans get a healthy amount of disdain and ridicule. Vietnam all over again. It's really refreshing to hear thanks for service, not hate. Thank you.
