Don't believe all you see...

I'm pretty certain that most of us on here have developed our own way of interpreting mainstream media. It's necessary to set up a few mental filters and question your first opinions on a story in order to not get swayed in the direction the publisher wants.

This site I came across serves as a reminder of how vigilant we should be when taking photo evidence into consideration. Yes, we all know photoshop exists but it's easy to forget how good it can be...

I was particularly interested by this one due to the general validity of lots of Reuters news...

Reuters was accused of bias against Israel when a doctored photo of the capital city of Lebanon was released by the wire service. The photo, submitted by Lebanese freelance photographer Adnan Hajj, shows (badly) cloned smoke and buildings and a darkened skyline. Reuters ultimately broke all ties with Hajj, who was accused of retouching other photos as well.

You would think they would try harder to make it look a little more realistic... I'm not so good at photoshop, but even I could do a better job at doctoring up a photo than that! Like you said, it does serve as a reminder that not everything is as it appears. Reason # 1,324,982 I stay as far away from MSM as possible.
