I don't even hunt. I have no intention of killing anyone or anything unless I truly need to. As things stand I still have Stop& Shop to supply my protein needs and honest work provides my family and I the means for the rest of our needs.

Why does everyone think that the primary reason people have guns is to kill? I have been a gun owner for thirty years and only killed twice. Once when my cat maimed a rabbit and then lost interest. Second when someone had hit a deer on the road and it was lying there flopping and making a horrible noise.

I can say, honestly, that I hated the experience both times.

I can also say that I prevented a crime two times by having a gun on/with me. Guess what? No shots fired and no one was hurt in either one.

I'm sorry for boring you with this. Feel free to get back to your "Faces of Death" collection.

No right to gun ownership is being infringed---just be regulated. It is just establsihng a process as to HOW to own a weapon.

I actually worry more about my government's use of the military domestically in a reaction than I do to the actual action.
I swear, the first time I stepped off the train & saw this pimple faced kid fully locked, armored & loaded, I had such an unspeakable sense of dread that it disturbed me for a good week.

I am not concerned about MOUT training in the least. I was trained in MOUT and more for about 2 1/2 months and I can tell you that it is a good idea, more or less.

As for the 2nd Amendment, no one, and I mean no one, thinks that it should NEVER be infringed upon. Some weapons just should not be allowed.

Etc

But there is still a need for weapons that are meant to kill PEOPLE.

Hunting and target practice are not the only reasons to own a gun. I want a gun to kill people.

Should I need one (i.e. Martial Law, invasion, home protection) a weapon to kill people is just the tool to have.

Opulence has caused people to think that we could never have something like that in our country. I mean hey, we're so big and bad right? The government is holy and on our side right?

We need regulations to tell us how to own a weapon? Get real. Who is going to tell us how to own one? The very entity that gives us cause to own a weapon, the government? The second amendment is so we will have the ability to take back the government were it to become tyrannical or arbitrary in rule. Don't try and tell me that its ok for the fox to tell the chickens how to protect themselves.

Jethro, by what standards do you say the citizens cannot own a grenade launcher? By reading what the Founders suggested, it would be very appropriate for some of us to own that. Automatic weapons, to. Count me out, I prefer semiautos like the mini-14 or MAC-90, but those weapons certainly would have a need were the population decide enough is enough and organize.

I'm down with you on this. I whole heartedly agree with an armed citizenry, and heavily at that.

There also needs to be limits on the regulations for keeping them. The smart gun bull#, the triggerlock bull#, and other fun things like that are preventing actual use should the need arise.

I remember hearing two different things about military involvement at Waco. The first was the official line that said that military personnel were used only in an advisory capacity, and the second which said that PSYOPS were used for noise operations.

Kang & Kodos (the aliens) begin to take over the world wielding a 2x4 with a nail in it. They are eventually beaten back when the humans get a bigger board with a bigger nail.
