That's no satellite, it's a massive red circle in the sky!

Attempts at humour aside, hope you get the picture sorted out. Would like to find out what it is. : )

My bet would be on a sat. There are plenty of them up there that are in geostationary orbit, meaning they stay in almost the exact same position all the time. You think DirecTV is the channels of the gods?

Right, can we all ignore the picture for the moment and ask for some deeper details..

Like where was it spotted from?
Approximate height, distance, direction.. am or pm? cloudy, clear, sparse thin clouds? Approximate amount of stars visible? Any light polluiton from nearest city? Airports/bases nearby?

description of object, illuminated? if so, how?
You know what I mean..the real hard core side of ufo reporting.

Every little bit of extra data will help those with te tools and the kit and know how to do some proper investigating instead of all this "no pic, didn't happen" nonsense...

Blimey, Betty and Barney Hill had their case investigated for years and years and they never had a pic..

And people gave me hell for posting blurry blobs on the Atlantis Shuttle thread. But at least you could *see* that they were visible blurry blobs, all we see here is blackness!

My guess would be Arcturus. Yoursky shows it visible above Chilliwack at that time.

If I recall correctly, one of the descriptions mannapolie used was "flashing police bar." That sounds consistent with a rapid flashing of red, white, and blue/green that Arcturus often exhibits.
