My heart sank when I saw the stunning effects in District9

I believe we have now crossed over into a realm of visual effects capabilities that truly do rival the 'real'. So... seeing the clips of the alien in this film my heart sank, it blew me away, so ultra realistic and so believable. It's at a stage now that when the real deal IS caught on video could it ever be believed? Entertainment value with the breaking technology is superb, but it is also a big win for those covering up the truth. It will be easier than ever to claim cgi or hoax when in fact it could be the real thing. Just my 2c

I've said it many times, I would only believe it was a real alien if I was shaking hands with one of them and looking them in the eye.

Even then, I'd be skeptical. I would still be (naturally) looking for signs of mechanism, and judging by most picture evidence, especially the greys... they have no visibly seperate iris, pupil and cornea etc. One would be looking into blackness.

I suppose the clincher would be when the alien poked me and started questioning if "I" was real too.

Looks like a good movie, good old Peter Jackson again. I'm sure Jack Sparrow will take me to the movies soon.

We had a thread going about this movie for a while but it was moved to BTS. Check it out, I posted the trailer with no pixels over the face and some translation there, along with the short film the creator made before getting signed up for the movie. It's about 6 or 7 minutes long but it's worth watching to get a little more background info.

so yeah.. imagine that clip playing on a 50inch movie screen, you then film it with 16mm black and white film and then transfer that film to video, upload to youtube as "leaked area51 video" and you've got one helluva hoax. That's assuming it's not released as a movie or anything. It would look brilliant.

Wouldn't that be something if one day that technology got so good and so simple to use that anyone of us could sit down at a computer and create a major motion picture film with hundreds or thousands of realistic actors, and not have to have millions of dollars or hire a single person! I drool at the idea!

I was highly impressed until I saw the spaceship.....and then the alien. Did the aliens get NASA or Boeing .....or even Cessna to build that? The alien was ridiculous (not having ever seen a real one admitedly) and the space ship way to human.

Wow, that District 9 ship blows 'Independence day' ships away easily.Stunning effects, the alien was masked though, incognito but i could see some of the detaill, great stuff i will definately watch it, peter jackson hoho !

Ship looks like some old/used USSR factory and the alien looks like that mantis guy from SpaceGhost C2C cartoon.

I stumbled on this website and thought WTF???? until I found a little D9 icon down the bottom of the page, that was the first time I had heard of this movie. Looks stunning.

The alien ship looks way too human-like, looks like it was made from industrial equipment and not what anyone would even think an alien ship really looks like..

Besides Transformers, I am really excited to see this movie.
Aliens have been missing in a big way from Hollywood as of late.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but i have a feeling it's a load of BS that only people stunned by purely visual pornography as far as CGI badassness is concerned. The ship is far too human, no wonder they're stuck in the situation they found themselves in... back to the drawing boards intelligent beings. our not so sleek ship is a p.o.s....

That's just the cover story you've been given.

This movie obviously used hired aliens - any digitalization of the aliens would likely have occurred after they had already been hired on by Peter Jackson. (not really, but it is that good)

It is all a conspiracy to get us ready for the disclosure/rapture/niburu/singularity/apocalypse/poleshift/ice age/Armageddon event we've all been hearing so much about.
