Bingo! Yes, Alien sure put the word into the vernacular.
Even though it could be said the film was about maternal instincts, what a mother would do to protect her offspring, I remember trying to avoid certain toy aisles with my son, as I was freaked out by the Alien dolls staring at me from the shelves. He thought they were cool.
