I've been a member of these forums for ages and thought i'd drop by and see how the community respond to my post.

Firstly, it is clear there are "UFO's" - By this i mean simply objects which are spotted in the "sky" but unidentifiable as a known phenomenon or manmade object.

I believe it is statistically likely there are other species on other planets in the universe.

String theory and that of a multiverse makes sense and answers a lot of the creation questions for me (although what created the multiverse is another matter to contemplate at some point).

That said, I'm hugely sceptical about alien visitations to the earth.

Why? Because I want PROOF. Not some shaky, grainy pic of a few lights. Not a story by someone I think is more than just "eccentric".

Some of the more outlandish claims (and there are a lot in here) do incredible damage to the credibility of other stories which are potentially more plausible.

So over to you really.. what do you consider the best proof of these alleged visits?

Betty and Barney Hill by far. Betty Hill presented her star map which actually had the view point from Zeta Reticuli. I thought that was pretty much some cold, hard, evidence. Either that or the Reptilians at Montauk.
I have a feeling thats why they wouldn't send me to the Coast Guard Base there. I told them I knew what they had there, underground. Then they stuck me here in Cleveland.

The viewpoint can only be at an infinite distance to get a near match of the main stars in B. Hill's map. The zeta Retuculi binary star does not match the map at all. Maybe some other stars make more sense, I haven't found which yet.

The best "proof" of these alleged visits? The numerous reports from people the world over is really the best "proof". However it is only proof of a perceived event, and is unlikely to be tested scientifically.

At 23.30 on 25 July 1938, a military man and his assistant came across a dark, lenticular object, 11 metres in diameter, hovering about two metres above the ground, and only 60 metres away from them, at Guadalajara, Spain. Two humainoid figures descended silently on a platform at the bottom of a column. A circle of blue light focused on the witnesses, who felt chilled by it. The platform ascended, the two sections of the object began to spin in opposite directions and, glowing with an intense white light, the object took off.

Travis Walton's abduction took place on 15 November 1975 at a logging site near Herber, Arizona.....
...When the truck reached a clearing, they saw a saucer-shaped object hovering less than 100 feet above a pile of cut timber...
....According to Walton, 'I got out of the truck and walked towards it. This may have been a foolish thing but I thought that it might just take off. I got out and tried to get a better look...'

Just to give you something to think about.

The last piece of advice I would give to you, is to go and research. Read, examine and logically analyse as best you can.

When people ask or 'demand' PROOF, what kind of proof is it that they are actually after?

Someone's observation?
Someone's grainy picture?
Some sort of technological device?
An alien coming upto them and tweaking their nose and saying "Boo, I'm an Alien".?

Whats the point of proof if someone else comes along and says " That's photoshopped" or " That's something you made up in your garage", or " Thats someone dressed like their going to a Star Trek convention".

Proof is irrelivant, seeing is believing.
