NEWS: bloodbath as Muslims, Christians fight in Indonesia's Maluku islands

The long time running battle between Christians and Muslims in Indonesia's Maluku islands rekindled today with people being hacked to death with swords. 60-100 people were injured depending on what news source you listen to.

"An Associated Press reporter saw a gang of around 50 people armed with swords and sticks hack two men to death close to the city's Pattimura University."

Is this what it comes down to, people are willing to fight and kill over a religious belief and draw lines in the sand over a book.

Welcome to the global conflict between western/christian culture and Islam.

Look back 10 years, how many of you knew what Islam was?.... a bit farther and I bet most had not heard of it or knew very little. Now most can recite text of the Qur'an from memory.

I believe this battle of faiths will only grow and consume far to many lives on all sides.

This is not just the USA against terrorism, it is really a battle of faiths, religion or not you in time will find yourselves on one side or the other, if not already.

And the battle will be in many nations. Not just the ones on Bush's list.

Anything than happends hear on earth is our own doing, the only people to blame is ourself, religion, god, jesus, satan or the tooth fairy does not have anything to do with it.

Imo, those who live by the sword, die by the sword.

Yes, but Hitler was on the offensive. We will be on the defensive.

Considering that these particular sects of Islam believe in killing all those who are non-believers (and that's not an overstatement), this offensive action of theirs makes them equal to small bands of Hitlers. Substitute "racial" supemecy for "religious" supremecy and it's all the same.

Any "religion" that mandates the death of those who do not follow is no real religion and must be stopped.
