Great thread. You are on to something.
Somehow the people that control the Media are hoping to make a lot of money from twitter, or to quickly poll and bounce back mainstream media propaganda.
I think it is goofy.
They (Media) probably think they are going to have a lock on instant mind control.

I also think most people under 30 are stupid in the sense that they have no real grasp of the big picture and are only acting like children in a grown body.

I also think this makes my life easier. So twit away, twits.

Well I signed up for a twitter account, and I don't see what the hype is, it doesn't seem like it is 'all that' in my opinion. I am very dissapointed in it, it seems to be a recap of everything that is already available on the net.

off course there is no theory in twitter, but it is strange yes ... I think they got lucky ...

The conspiracy reality is that all these social network sites are there to DISTRACT you from the truth, and taking action.

Interesting post. I have also been wondering about why every TV channel I turn to is talking about Twitter. I believe it is nothing more than a marketing blitz. The owners of Twitter have most likely paid a lot of money to the media outlets to have them talk about their product.

I remember a month or so ago when that plane crashed in Amsterdam, CNN International interviewed some guy, live on air, because he was among the first to twitter that he saw the plane crash site. Ever since that moment, they've [CNN International] been telling everyone to go to Twitter and see what's up and comment on their Twitter pages. Even the weather people are doing it now! I wanted to throw my shoe at the TV when the weather guy said, "And that's the weather for Europe--please visit my Twitter page, weatherguyCNN, and tell me if you like rain!"

It's disgusting, in my opinion. It seems that the MSM is starting to resort to using Twitter as a credible source too.

Perhaps the popular social networking site continually changing [MySpace-->Facebook-->Twitter-->MyTwitaceook] is part of a grand ploy to get those who are into it to eventually go and get chipped or something else because it's the cool thing to do.

You knew this had to happen, now Twitter and swine flu make the news...

www.cnn.com...

(CNN) -- The swine flu outbreak is spawning debate about how people get information during health emergencies -- especially at a time when news sources are becoming less centralized.

Some observers say Twitter -- a micro-blogging site where users post 140-character messages -- has become a hotbed of unnecessary hype and misinformation about the outbreak, which is thought to have claimed more than 100 lives in Mexico.

"This is a good example of why [Twitter is] headed in that wrong direction, because it's just propagating fear amongst people as opposed to seeking actual solutions or key information," said Brennon Slattery, a contributing writer for PC World. "The swine flu thing came really at the crux of a media revolution."

In other words... Don't trust the information on twitter you fools... ONLY the MSM can inform you properly.

Say it with us...

Twitter bad, CNN good!

Twitter is headed in THAT direction eh?

hmmm

I work for a sportsbook and a few weeks ago, one of my co-workers who has subscribed to all the NBA team Twitter sites, received Injury information from the Hawks site two hours before our sports information site gave us the details. And we pay 600 USD a month for donbest sports info, per account!

I opened a Twitter account, but it's not for me.,, but from a work point of view, it does make sense to subscribe to all sports tweets.

And tonight, on the New and Improved tonight show, Conan had a whole segment on Twitter.... which will be a regular thing.

It was funny.
