Last week at the Summit of the Americas in Trinidad and Tobago, the leftist leader gave President Obama a book called “The Open Veins of Latin America” by Eduardo Galeano. But the text, which shot up the Amazon sales charts afterward, was a mere pittance compared with another, less widely reported gift.

I didn't see this on ATS and thought it should be brought to the attention of ATS.

I still don't know what to make of it. Highly weird to say the least.

So what happens to the island now? Do the real estate developers get to build golf courses, hotels and casinos? Will it be turned into a wildlife park?

Thats great though I think, the worlds most annoying leaders could go there, and say there after they ruin the world with lies about how cool it is to go accusing each other and forming monolithic structure which lead to world wars etc..

I mean that all these world leaders are liars, and peace is a footnote with them, they command armies..what you you do if you had mania?

Well .. you've gotta admit ... it's better than DVDs from walmart or an IPOD with music that no one listens to. Obama could take some gift giving lessons from Chavez.

(side note .. that book gift was a commercial/publicity stunt used by Chavez to boost his book sales. It worked )

this is not sinister at all. its an island in new jersey that was owned by the parent company of citgo.

i think it was more sinister to have the island owned by venezeula to begin with but now that its obama's... i think that means we can build golf courses on it now, and you can enjoy the island life in new jersey.. haha... now theres a conspiracy!
