What just happened to the "ATS?" thread?

Your right, its not out of line to discuss it... but go do so on one of the threads that already exist.

The thread was killed for being a clone of another "ATS censorship" thread.

End of story.

Perhaps someone could elaborate a little more on this? Im sure it's intriguing to a lot of people who didn't know what was going on. It only fosters its popularity if nobody explains what was that thread about and what was the problem with it.

If you read this FULL THREAD it has been answered.

The fore-mentioned removed post was another "ATS is cointelpro" gibberish... just like the others you can find in the archive.

OK. Well as I said most threads are repeats: Nibiru, Illuminati, Portals, Stargates, Orbs, UFO's, Bush, Obama, 9/11, Astral Projection, Moon/Mars bases, Ghost, Jesus, Satan, D.U.M.B.'s, Roswell, Congress, on and on and on....... Should they just be lumped into just one thread each so we can fumble through a 950 page thread. I am sure this subject has entered the minds of most that have been here, if not you are naive.

All of those threads you listed stay, because each one has something unique to them.. else they get "killed" for being a clone or re-post.

ALL "ATS is censorship" are pretty much the same.. so they get dealt with.

There are at least 30-50 threads killed daily for being mirror images of another... yet nobody says a word unless it is the "ATS censorship" variety.

This is the same way things have been ran before you joined, and will run after your passing fancy leaves.. you are naive to think otherwise.

I have to agree with you there! I also disagree with the contention DaleGribble made that the evolution vs. creationism threads are, in fact different topics. Can you please explain why these seemingly duplicate threads should not be eliminated? I still think that's the biggest dead horse ever on ATS! I just did a search for "ATS is cointelpro" and came up with a l ist of redundant results. Where is the original thread (and first page) underneath all of this?

I don't really expect things to change, and I'm not sure they even should. I just wanted to know the rest of the story. Taking away that opportunity only piques my curiosity.

Oh I'm not going anywhere, mr. or ms. been here one year more than me. I am sure they have been running things the same way for a long time, even pre 2007. Most of the threads I mentioned are only unique by their wording. I was saying "people" are naive not to have thought that this place was a data mining operation at one time or another. As I said, I don't think it is an agency owned operation. It is funny how so many people chime in on a subject that is dead or proven, for God's sake nothing here is hardly proven or it would be called fact proven end of story page.

Edit to add: I appreciate this site very much and enjoy reading a lot of repeats to find something that might stand out from one to another, always looking for the smoking gun.

Fellow was basically complaining 'cause he registered under the address of his site, made one post pushing his site, and then ignored attempts to verify he was a real person.
And, then it also devolved into a debate over what banning actually consists of, and whether or not Lear was rightfully banned from the site.

Well, thanks for the basic explanation. I posted a question about who the person really was, if they were TomTheLiar from the other site they linked to.

I haven't been home for a few hours and came back to see if that question was ever answered.

So, yes, it appears the thread turned into something not worth even discussing.

I can see why it was removed.

Thanks a lot. It doesn't sound nearly as exciting as the OP. It also intrigued me that 404 not found page which was the only thing I could see of the thread.

While being as fair as I can, there are some people here that are simply here to get a rise out of people when they can.
Others who feel that they are entitled to something they've put no effort into, or can claim no ownership.
