stem cells cure diseases that will only reproduce the next generation of people to suffer with the same diseases.

I may seem to have a lack of compassion but i ask what is worse? There is no pleasure with out pain. Never win if you could not loose. No creation without distruction. No life without death. But energy never dies it onley changes form E=Mc2.

cure all STDs and allow viruses to mutate into a worse disease? cure all genetic diseases and reproduce the next generation of cancer or diabetes? Inject fetus cells and regrow limbs like reptiles? Genetically engineer your DNA and hide behind the false image of man? MADNESS!! 900 billion people have lived and died on this planet but you cant except the inevitable death?? I fear that human devolution is real with humans enabling natural selection. think of all the movies of human devolution. planet of the apes, time machine, ideocrazy, all horror and vampire movies, 50% of TV etc etc... I pray gods intelligent design of life will not allow this man made horror.

With all due respect, your religious take on stem cell science isn't 'breaking alternative news'.

Whilst I've never heard your view before, I'm not sure it strictly qualifies as news and the idea that this goes against any particular god's work is hardly 'alternative'.

The human species will end, one day, whether or not we research and implement genetic research into action. Viruses will mutate. Man will build bigger, faster ways to destroy themselves....

I think you're drawing false analogies from your films...

Planet of the Apes - Not due to genetic research...remember the end of the film...the Statue of Liberty... "Oh my God... I'm back. I'm home. All the time it was... we finally really did it. [screaming] YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP! OH, DAMN YOU! GODDAMN YOU ALL TO HELL! (camera pans to reveal the half-destroyed Statue of Liberty sticking out of the sand)"

Time Machine - again, Nuclear war, if my memory serves me correctly.

Idiocracy - the idiots of society reproduce faster than the intelligent of the species, till the point where the entire genepool is...well...shallower than a bathtub...they SHUN science and education and progress, in favor of reality tv, monster trucks, and convenience.

Horror movies - are we to imply that pedophiles killed in housefires can come back to haunt and kill people in their dreams? Or how about half deformed, silent mongoloids drowning at summer camp and returning from the grave as an unstoppable killing machine to exact their revenge on society?

End of the day, you're confusing entertainment with reality.

Could unexpected and detrimental things happen? Yes. But they will happen with or without man's dabbling...better to understand the nature of the problem than to remain ignorant.

Besides, the line of reasoning is irrational. If we research and finally understand genetics, it wouldn't matter how much any virus or genetic code mutated, because in understanding the science of genetics, we'd be able to understand why, and fix it. It is only because, at this point and time, we don't understand it, because certain people, such as yourself, fear what could happen...by some freak chance.

We understand what we understand for a reason...if we weren't meant to, we wouldn't.

Whether or not the movies referenced are "decent" or not is completely reliant on the viewers opinion of high and low comedy and drama.

Now, in terms of the films' depiction of man's complete intellectual "descent"..that is another story completely.
