Man on cross-country trek to honor Tillman

nbcsports.msnbc.com

Fanning is a former Army Ranger and friend of Pat Tillman, the Arizona State and Arizona Cardinals star who was killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan in April 2004. In his memory, and to raise funds for the Pat Tillman Foundation, Fanning has spent every day since Sept. 17 walking westward from Virginia Beach, Va., averaging 20 miles per day in a trek that will end in Huntington Beach, Calif.

His hope is to raise $3.6 million, the contract amount Tillman turned down from the Cardinals.

I'm glad to see someone who served with Tillman dedicating so much effort to a project like this. Mr. Fanning must have been very favorably impressed to leave behind his job as a banker and take on a long trek to get the word out and raise money for the Pat Tillman Foundation.

Fanning is in Tempe right now for Pat's Run, which is coming up on Saturday.

Been some talk lately that it was VPCheney who gave the order to kill tillman.
Anyway - i don't see any point in honoring tillman or any other soldier who fought and died in a war of genocide.

The reason is that Tillman was disgusted with the reasons for the war and openly declared that when he got back stateside he was going to hit the talk show circuit about it. Cheney didn't like that. Tillman's disgust is not a matter of contention since many of his friends in the military and all his family knew of his stance on the issue. The only part that's still up for debate was whether or not it was really Cheney who ordered the killing or one of the banksters he takes it up the backside from.
