I'm no Nemesis expert but I do like the Phil Schneider exlanation on it
at the end of one of his lectures, he says that Nemesis is real and will pose a threat to us (hence 3 mile deep D.U.M.B.S.) but wont be close to us untill about 2052 and not 2012.

I personaly don't buy into the whole 2012 'End of the World' stuff but I do believe it will be the begining of a new era.
