This video reminds me that...

I have always asked myself what would the next form of intelligent life , or future humanoids say about the lost relics of our planet after our civilization departs one way or another.

Would the journey of mastering technology be the same ? Or would they find alternative ways and our secrets will be lost forever?

Would they ask themselves how did we ,some tiny life forms , manage to build such a wonderful world just as we ask ourselves how were the pyramids or any other ancient marvels built ?

Many will say that they will look back and they will have a laugh at our stupidness , but no civilization is born smart , strong and wise . I believe that everyone or everything in this universe has it's inner struggles and bad parts . I believe that lately we have been too strict with ourselves and we forgot who we really are and how much we actually did in the last 1000 years.

With all the wars and crimes around the world , with all chaos and ignorance i am still proud to be a human being , because we have potential and sincerly believe that the single barier restricting our advance is time , in time we achieve anything.

I would sincerly like to think that after we are gone , some kind of inteligent life will arrive here and they would tell their kids that our buildings almost reached the skies , that our cities were sparkling in the night in such a way that the stars were ashamed , that we evolved in such a haste time itself seemed too slow , that here lies the great Human Civilization .

But the most striking question is ...will anyone ever remember us?

This is an absolutely amazing video. Thank you for sharing. I think that they will look at our ruins and then look at the forrests and jungles and ask why we would build such ugly things when we have such beauty naturally surronding us.

Or they will look at our ruins and wonder how a civilization capable of turning cities into works of art could fall.

Indeed . It is very true that our planet has it's own extraordinary beauty , bot some of the things we build around the globe are truly incredible and fascinating . It just blows me away how we some small life forms are capable of such marvels. But again i wonder....will anyone ever remember us...

If mankind were to disappear today, what would a future historian from another world think if they should ever stumble upon the earth, say, in ten thousand years? Would anything of modern man still survive?

They would find our most ancient monuments, which modern humans can't fully explain or agree on as to how they were built, among our most impressive structures! Not exactly a ringing endorsement for modern man.

But then again modern man does have some pretty impressive artifacts to leave behind. For starters, consider:

Satellites and other space debris that might still be orbiting our planet
A lunar lander and landing site on the moon
The Hoover dam
The super-collider
Mt. Rushmore
The Mirny diamond mine in Russia

I'm sure there's many more modern monuments or artifacts that might survive a few aeons, but most of what we have built would crumble to dust or lay strew about the strata. Building with colossal stone blocks might actually be the best option for something to last an eternity!

Indeed.

Another scenario that would be really sad is if we were to be found by some extraterestials who were looking for just ONE another intelligent life form . And all they would find is our lost relics and realize that we are gone. I wonder what would they think of us and what would they write about us .

I think of it in a funny way, what would they think of the wierd stuff they would find, like porn, playstations, booze, ipods, all of our "recreational stuff". Ppl always think about the ruins, books, tools, etc. what if the first thing an alien found was a stack of hustlers.

I assumed that they would find certain buildings and landscapes first due to their incredible size.

BUT
Regarding your suggestion ...it would really depend on which type of extraterestrials they are. If they were humanoids just like us , they got their hands on a special edition porn magazine from outter space !!!
If they would look nothing like us they would probably find out how we look and they would probably ask themselves wtf we were doing there
