from them, or that they could sue whomever did it to them, if you drug someone up enough they can't defend themselves from crazy governments and
policies and now they won't even remember why rights matter.

This is what the memory drug will be used for: to manipulate people.
To make them forget all.
Because never mind that people should all have the right to their own memories.
Listen, ATS.
It is something to be concerned about.
To the person who says that the victim of mind-erasing "may regain their memories later in life": that wasn't at all included in the video I put up
here. And yes, it is a video about rats; and humans are not rats.
But the results they showed did not incude any regaining of memories for them, so although we're talking about different creatures, this cannot
actually be good for the conditioned little rats of America. (Or the earth. If it is allowed to go on, it will spread in practice.)
Think about the "depressed patient" who should "be able" to forget their troubles. But realize that forgetting troubles is certainly not what the
thing we call 'life' is all about. This is in the case that they're selectively erasing- even then, it's wrong.
Not everyone would agree that a person's memories shape who they are, but who would disagree that forgetting everything could leave a person an
empty seed? If a person forgets, how do they learn to fix the problem, or grow?
If a person forgets, who are they?
Think of those who forget because of alzheimers.
Are they themselves, once they can't even function? They can't speak, they might barely be able to think- or not at all, in the worst cases. Some
might not be able to move.
Think of this, and think of what it would make a person, to have their memories torn from them.
There in the past have been murders, just because a person saw or heard something they weren't supposed to. And there are people who have taken
secrets to their murky graves.
That's not to say that the present is always a perfect improvement, but what will it be like, when those who are wrong, and those in power, have a
problem, so they erase people?
Who has the right to take a life?
Who will willingly throw their lives before a serial murderer, and give up their right to life?
Murderers take away lives of the undeserving innocent.
I am talking about the undeserving, here.
Because who has the right to take away another's memory?
Brain cells are not regenrated. Damage is permanent.
Memory erasure is going to be permanent.
Because it wouldn't benefit the ones taking it away if it wasn't permanent.
Realize that this is a problem, ATS.
NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO TAKE ANOTHER PERSON'S MEMORY.
