You are right. There IS a difference.

Obama wants to leave 50,000 troops.
McCain wanted to leave just 'a presence' like we have in Japan.
(I was stationed in japan for 3 years so I understand what 'presence' means)

McCain wanted to contiue war, Obama wanted to leae a safety net but force the country to run for itself.

Um .. sorry ... but that's backwards.

At any rate .. he didn't tell them all that he changed his mind. He didn't tell them all that he made empty promises about getting them ALL out in 16 months. He didn't tell them that he was talking out of ignorance when he made the promises and that now his plan is pretty much the same as McCains was ... the same plan that he trashed McCain for.
