Can people please introduce people to psycology skills before the uses of weapons. I've asked the schools to please teach psycology from an early age. So people can learn how to talk to one another and how to in all ways resolve any issues they may have.

Well, what are you going to do about shower curtain rods, knives, cinder blocks, fireplace pokers, screwdrivers, frying pans, vases, cords, fists, chairs, hammers, shovels, coat hangers, mugs, insecticides, and of course, the list goes on.

Tell that to the person or people who may point a gun in your face one day. I doubt psychology will do much more than piss him her or them off. I commend you for not wanting to be violent but one day you may not have a choice. This world is going to the dogs and very fast. Some defend some violate the defenders need to stand.

A gun cannot be a weapon, or deadly, until it is in the hands of a being willing to use it.
Take away the guns, these same beings will use knifes.
Take away the knifes, they will use clubs.
Take away the clubs, they will use fists.

I don't read the original post as being pro gun control, but pro self-control.

As someone who has been shooting since a single-digit age I can say that it sounds a lot like what my dad always taught me - a gun is a machine, a potentially lethal one, but it's just a tool.

First you check your head, then you check the gun - both are essential to use the tool safely.

The right to bear arms mandates that we are responsible for how we use them.

I was mostly responding to the title "save lives from guns".
The implication that the gun is the danger.

I have no problem teaching anyone about psych, but you also need to include how eugenics in the US and UK as well as the Nazis used it to do horrible thiings, and how today it has been used to drug up kids. Semantics would actually cost less and inform people how they make problems in their own heads by what they subconsciously mean by what they say, etc. No drugs, etc.

Guns don't really matter, if soneone wanted to die they have tons of choices, or if they wanted to kill just as many choices. So guns are not to be feared, just people with bad intentions and that cannot always be known, so yes life can be unpredictable and dangerous, no need for you to get depressed about it.

there are a lot of knife killings in England. Should we ban knives as well (in the process undoing millenia of human development of this simple tool)?

I do not currently own a gun (except a family heirloom deer rifle that i leave at my mothers and haven't seen in 10 years). The moment that i think they will ban/outlaw guns, i will buy a nice Mossberg pump action 12 gauge, a decent Browning 9 mm or .45, and a decent rifle that uses 7.62mm rounds.

I want to have the option, if need be, to purchase weapons. If that option is taken away from me, then i will need to make sure i already have the weapons.

Where do the parents fit into this? I always have been under the impression, mistakenly apparently, that instilling of morals was the job of the parents...

Parents, not the schools/gov't., are the keepers of the morals, or lack of same, of our children. Children learn best when taught by parents. My father taught me the when's, where's, and how's of defending myself, not the schools. If anything, the only thing school provided was the place I got to put some of the Dad's theories into practise...and you want them to teach our kids proper social behaviour?
