There has been alot of talk about a draft lately with senator voicing their approval for the reinstatement of the military draft.
Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska raised eyebrows Tuesday when he suggested the United States may need to reinstitute the draft.
On Wednesday, he said he was not advocating a return to military conscription, which ended in 1973 -- but the government "should start
realistically exploring what our options are" and should consider some mandatory national service.
But House Majority Leader Tom DeLay of Texas said the chances of Hagel's proposal passing Congress were "none -- absolutely none."

I think we have alot of military might in us and the only way that a draft would be reinstituted is if another major war opened up to the scale of
china or another power.
What does everyone else think about this idea of a draft and would we really need it if we started invading syria or iran.
This all could change if bush got re elected but then again I think if the need arose..... Bush or Kerry as president would do the same and
reinstitute the draft.
