I was thinking the same thing as the OP.
I watched a few of the 'news' reports from bbc, cbc, sky, and some Australian broadcasts, and they kept refering to the protesters as
anti-capitalists. I had to do a double take, because that made absolutely no sense. These people are protesting AGAINST the anti-capitalist bailouts
that all of the governments and banks are involved in. It is anti-capitalist to interfere with the free markets by handing out billions--err,
trillions--of dollars to failing corporations.
The other thing that made my jaw drop was when the newscaster said that "MANY of these protesters are willing to resort to violence to spread their
message." C'mon, that is not true! Especially considering the clip that followed that comment showing maybe three 'self-proclaimed anarchists'
shattering the windows at RBS, while a REAL protestor is begging them to stop. Out of all of the clips I saw, I could only count a handful of
protesters that were involved in random violence and criminal behavior, and yet the lady on the tube lumps the tens of thousands of other peaceful
protesters into the same category. Truly sad, because the millions that watch the 'news' and aren't tuned into what is really going on here will
take her words as absolute fact.
These media outlets are spewing blatant lies, IMO. This whole mess is absolutely riduculous, and I'm sick of it.
