BBC time watch - pyramids the last secret.

For centuries archaeologists have been trying to work out how the ancient Egyptians raised huge stone blocks to the top of the Great Pyramid. This documentary presents a radical new theory by French architect Jean-Pierre Houdin. He believes that an internal ramp was used, which is still inside the Pyramid waiting to be discovered. If he is right, it is the greatest discovery since Tutankhamun.

came across this interesting program. it puts a new theory forward on how the pyramids where constructed.

the video can been watched for free on the bbc iplayer website. i recomend watching it soon as they only leave content on the site for a few weeks before it is replaced

or for a quick overwiev here is an a new's story on the subject.

and if you are unable to view the video here are some links to read.

Of the seven wonders of the ancient world, only the Great Pyramid of Giza remains. An estimated 2 million stone blocks weighing an average of 2.5 tons went into its construction. When completed, the 481-foot-tall pyramid was the world's tallest structure, a record it held for more than 3,800 years, when England's Lincoln Cathedral surpassed it by a mere 44 feet.

just wanted to hear people's thoughts about the theory. its not one i believe i have encountered, and it seems plausible.

Its not really new as its been on here several times before, but yeah its a rather interesting theory. I just wonder if the Egyptians really thought that far. I mean ramps outside would probably be considerably easier for structural integrity.
