I want to point something out, although I'm sure it's obvious that I think they were dead wrong.

It was discovered on the hale-bopp comet the most complicated molecule discovered on an extra-terrestrial body before -- anti-freeze. Do a search for a thread by me on hale-bopp for the site. I just found it interesting that the comet a bunch of people decided to kill themselves over :shk: turned out to be a comet where a major scientific discovery was made.

if i remember correctly , several of the bodies found when they topped themselves were self -castrated .

Wow, I remember the whole Hale- Bopp thing. I was only like 10 or so, but even then I couldn't figure out how people could believe something like that. I guess it takes all kinds... didn't South Park or some show do a spoof on that?

Does anyone remember the other take on Heavens Gate, it was some mind control experiment using members to write code while in a heighten states of awareness for websites that were unhackable and possibly could control your mind from remote locations????.
