You would think that the FCC forcing a $1 BILLION dollar upgrade to the 20 remaining B-2 bombers would make news. This is the first I've heard of it. However, it's not the only aircraft to have problems with their bandwidth.

In Japan, the Patriot PAC-3 system uses bandwidth that is used by the Japanese cell network. The F-22 datalink to the AWACS platforms are severely limited outside the US, because they used a developed frequency.

Something needs to be done, either it be the military developing their own systems, or opening up new bandwidth frequencies somehow.
