Help me start my own brand of clothes

i got the idea from a friend of mine..who has made his own brand of skate tshirts and jeans.
i will start probably work in the next week in a fashion store so i will get knowledge from there too.
i want to start with 1-2 models of tshirts.male and female...
i guess 1000$ will fix me for the start so i will just wait to get my 2 month salary.
any help or ideas what contents made the perfect combination for style,smooth touch and quality?cotton/any other material?
i want the tshirts to be really top style quality like the top brands.
any busness advice will be helpfull too.

IF you can't afford to start a professional clothes line, i recommend joining www.cafepress.com.... there you can make your logos and upload them, people buy them from the online store you make....

You have courage my brother to start a business during a recession.

But if you have solid designs, clever promotion, and enough capital to see you thru the rough spots it just might work.

My design studio tanked over a year ago due to my target demographic being hit HARD by economic forces I had no control over. Not to mention my raw materials more than doubling in price, kicking the **** out of my price points and $4.oo gas making marketing next to impossible. Oh well, it's not the first time I've gone broke and it probably won't be the last.

thank you i feared the thread died,i know its a bad time to start something couse of this crysis but still people say in bulgaria isnt that hard i dont know.
i dont want to use such online sites,i dont think ill get a single buy.
i want to make my own using quality material,i think i have enough
artistic spirit to make a new brand that everyone will start liking.
i look at other clothes and theyr just..so..normal.
i think the net has enough info,and i can ask everyone then desides if i want
to try with some tshirts once i collect 2 sallaryes.i expect to start working
at the fashion store very soon so that would be a big plus in my quest.
