Who are the shadow people?

Who are the shadow people???

I am not talking about shapeshifters/ elementals / jins. I mean the other variety of shadow people. You see a black humanoid shadow (almost always masculine) from the corner of your eye. When you turn to see it is not there.

Who are they in simple language?
Are they astral remnants for evil living individuals?

Why have they not moved on?
Did they not move on because they died unnaturally: murder?

Is it that malevolence of these individual was limited when they were alive due to the limitations of the human physical body. But now that they free from the humanoid physical shell, they are unleashed to ethereal/physical plane to wreak malevolent havoc?

I believe that they are just spirits that have passed on and don't want to leave. The reasons why (in my opinion) are they have unfinished business, They wish to watch over there love ones, or simply don't want to leave period.

It's also my belief that a spirit can form into almost anything (Orbs,Shadow People, etc etc) that it wish.

I never see shadow people, because I never look for them. I see random shadows, but I'm pretty sure it's just a fault of human physiology, and not a real entity.

Human physiology is not perfect, and doesn't work exactly the same in everybody. That is important to remember.

As personally having been attacked by them, and knowing more than a few friends who have seem them while awake, I can honestly say that I have no idea what they are.
Maybe ET, Maybe Evil Spirit, or perhaps, MASS HYSTERIA!!!. But probably not mass hysteria.

I have it on good authority that they are denizens of the next dimension over from ours. Inter dimensional voyeurs if you will.

Apparently the military opened a portal and now they can come and go as they please.

If they can be any shape they want ....Orbs , shadow People , transparent.... how would they get to choose which form , and is it only once choice or different anytime they like? that statement leaves so many unanswered questions .

ive had multiple encounters with the shadow person (or people) the hat man. ive also seen various other commonly mentioned shadow entities. ive also seen ghosts and i believe the two are related.

i do not personally believe that these entities (shadows) can shapeshift. i believe the "now you see it now you dont" effect is a product of their speed.

there seems to be a hierarchy of power within the various forms of shadow beings. the hat man is the most powerful in my opinion, the lesser formless shadows are scouts, or henchmen (for lack of a better word).

death is somehow involved, wether these are reapers or scavengers of some kind i dont know. i believe they chain people to places, hence ghosts. they also seem to have some interest in the living, probably prahna.

the hat man is most often seen around calamity. i saw him for the last time before being the first on the scene of a pretty bad accident on top of a mountain pass in the middle of the night. i have not seen him since and can only assume that i interrupted his nights work.

I don't have all the answers and i would never claim that. but maybe it depends on how much energy they are able to gain. But I really don't know, these are just my opinions

Hello, I'm new to this ATS forum and decided to join. I stumbled on this by accident and the more I read the more intrigued I was by the subjects and the civilized conversations about them.

I was amazed at all the subjects that I have been researching in studying can be found on here. Seems nothing is off subject here. Any way, I love reading the forums and I hope to get to really learn from you all.

And about the "shadow people", I hadn't even heard of them till about a tear ago when my close friend told me one day "Man, I see shadow people, like...all the time." My friend is also a knowledgeable person, if fact, he's one of the main guys that got me into this way of thinking.

I sometimes think I see shadow people but I think it's just things outside of my peripheral vision and the reflection of my glasses. Without my glasses, I'm blind a s a bat.

New to posting, but not new to lurking on ATS.

Back in the early 90's I used to work in a bike shop with a friend of mine who I had known for a fair few years. We used to have a workshop for fixing the bikes downstairs (just below ground level).

The workshop only had one entrance, a narrow set of stairs, & then we would have all of our stock stored in half the room, with a workshop & stand at the far end.

For years both of us worked down there, sometimes together, sometimes alone. Nearly everyday you would be working on a bike, when just in the corner of your eye you would see a dark figure standing at the bottom of the stairs at the other end of the room. Of course, every time you looked up there was nothing to see, I frequently walked over to the stairs to have a look - finding nothing.

This went on nearly every day for years & I thought it was just my mind playing tricks on me. It was only when I mentioned it to my friend that he said that it happened to him all the time as well. Neither of us had mentioned it as we thought our minds were just playing tricks. However, it turns out that it happened to both of us frequently, but only ever when we were in the workshop. Neither of us have ever seen any other 'shadow people' anywhere else.

I had forgotten about the experience until I read this thread, but am glad to find out that it's not just me.

I would put the experience down to a trick of the mind if it wasn't the fact that it only ever happened in that one room, it happened nearly every day, & my friend had also described exactly the same experience even though we had never previously discussed it.

I covered this topic in Anomalous Realites Pt.2 which is hosted here on ATSmedia. I have been seeing these things most of my life and my children are now seeing them as well. I have seen spirits and I have seen shadow people and in my opinion I do not think they are the same type of entity. I lean a bit more towards the dimensional theories than spirit ones.
Of course for now there seems no way to know what they are for certain, but I think it is pretty common through all that witness these things that most of them have a menacing demeanor to them.

Yes, that does seem to be a theme, although I have to admit that although I had the experience many times, I never felt threatened - a bit uneasy yes, but never threatened. Quite often you would feel like you were being watched just previous to a sighting.

Another strange thing is that although I have spent many. many hours working in that room, & would quite happily work in there despite the constant sightings at the time - neither me or my friend can now even bear to look from the doorway down the stairs into the room, let alone venture down there. None of us work there anymore & although the shop is still a bike shop, the basement isn't used as a workshop anymore.

I have lived here in the same house since 1973 and have not seen a "shadow person" before. Now about 2 months ago I did start seeing "shadow cats" and "shadow mice". I call them that because of their size. The first time I seen one I though one of the cats had gotten in the house. This is not an every day thing. Maybe once a week or so. Not really sure if they are there or my mind is playing tricks on me. But it only started about 2 months ago

I have a very clear experience, one that went on for quite some time, with regard to what are referred to "shadow people". It was my need to find some answers or, at least, some kindred spirits, that made me search for any possibility of others having experienced something similar. Or, for that matter, thsoe that found the notion so outrageous as to be laughable. I wish it was all a big joke but for me, and my sister in my bedroom, at the time, it was all too real. This isn't my first experience with the "inexplicable" but is a standout series of events.
Basically, what would happen is that I shared my bedroom with one or two of my sisters. I was the oldest in this room.., seven/eight yars of age. Our bedroom had three beds in it. Two beds ran parallel to the side walls, with a door in the middle from the hallway. Opposite to the door, but slightly askew was the window. On the same wall that the window appeared was another bed, usually with my youngest sister in it The window was positioned past the foot of the bed beneath it.
Okay.., so I'm not sure when or how often but what felt like a regular even, I would become aware of someone on the outside of the window. Just as I felt aware of this presence, they'd appear inside the bedroom itself. It happened an indefinite number of times when, one night, my sister whose bed was running parallel to mine but on the other side of the bedroom door noticed this presence. No one else had ever taken any notice of what I'd had to say about this man that would appear in our room. Anyway.., so this particular night, my sister looks across to me and shrieks, "don't let him get you!". I immediately threw myself under the blankets and whilst spying out from under the bedclothes, I seen this huge figure bring something down upon me from its hand. The thing is, he was as black as a silhouette, with no features. He was, what I can only describe as a shadow man. As whatever it was reached down toward me, I felt three sharp but painless jabs, in between my shoulder blades. I can't recall how things ended.
Interestingly enough, (if you find this stuff interesting), I found a wikipaedia page that almost blew my puny brain. It was about "shadow people", and the almost exact picture of what I had seen. It's the left hand image although there is a strange familiarity of the right hand figure.

I am not certain how to respond to the question of "shadow people". Personally, I think its become a rather obtuse umbrella term for multiple apparitions of dark appearance; it seems as though more than one shadowy creature, or apparition, has been misidentified. Five years ago dark humanoids were just ghosts, or demons, or what have you; now they're all shadow people. Am I the only one who thinks we've just given up and stuck a fat lable on everything unknown in the shadow? I've seen my share of things, all of which were dark, all of which were in the shadow; no two things which I've seen were alike, and I would hesitate to assume they were of the same origin, let alone type. There is one type I've been trying to research, and every attempt has been baffled by the abundance of "shadow people" topics, none of which correlate to each other, let alone to my sightings.

If we're ever going to figure out what shadow people are, we need to begin by agreeing on what constitutes a shadow person. You can't search for something which doesn't even have a set definition.

By the way, am I the only one who is reminded of the Mothman? Different eyes, I guess.

And if any of you have ever seen a black humanoid which walks on all fours, has elongated arms, glowing eyes, and possibly travels in a pack, please let me know. So far I've only found three reliable accounts, no web-articles, and not one single photo. I suppose someone will mistakenly call them shadow people, but that is a risk I'm willing to take to find an answer.
