George Noory: The Face of Coast To Coast

I know there are much more important subjects to talk about than this, but I just can't take it anymore. I went to the CoasttoCoastam.com website today, and they have a preview of the new web layout. Click here to see it. Decent layout, except for the header -- I don't want to see George Noory's ugly mug every time I check to see who the guests are going to be.

This problem is much deeper than a picture at the top of a website, though -- it's what the picture represents. Coast to Coast AM, never a perfect show, but usually interesting, is gradually becoming a cult of personality -- and that personality happens to be one of an ignorant, arrogant, self-important, condescending dolt. Art Bell would have never stooped so low as to have his face be the iconographic symbol of Coast to Coast -- and this idiotic interloper is no Art Bell.

For a long time I thought I was in the minority -- thanks to their diligent call screening, everyone who gets through open lines seems to lap Noory up. But then a few weeks ago I happened on the Amazon.com page for George Noory's book -- and I've never seen such negative reviews, for anything. We're not alone, not by a long shot.

But I guess all I can do is vent.

ETA: Sorry if this is a bad place to put this thread -- I couldn't find anything that seems more appropriate, and the new C2C website is kind of current news. But Mods, please move it if there's somewhere you think it fits better.

While I agree about George Noory and I cut my conspiratorial teeth on Art Bell and the Kingdom of Nye, I have to point out:

Damn. I haven't read the ToS in awhile, and I only come here irregular (or maybe regularly, but only to check the hot topic, and not often extensively). I'll have to rephrase this.

if you don't like it don't go there. If you have to go to the site use firefox and get the adblocker/noscript add on and you will never see that header again as long as you use firefox....or if you have beef with firefox buy/download and adblocker and use your brain to figure out a way to solve the problem without taking such odd measures...

why not boycott the show by yourself....be the change you want to see

I don't go there any more, unless there happens to be a really interesting guest, and most often it's one of the weekend hosts when that happens. So I already am boycotting, basically. This is a post of melancholy and nostalgia.
