The Power Of Dreams

Dreams are a complete mystery to us.

Apparently they can be used for Alien contacts, remembering past lives, seeing the future, De Ja Vu, just to name a few.
What is the secret, the mystery behind dreams?
Some dreams are extremely vivid, so real, when you wake up its like they actually happened.
Sometimes you dream of things you have been thinking of for a while, sometimes of completely random things that you don't have a clue about.
When i was a kid i used to get this dream, about riding a pink/purple donkey thing on some other planet like Mars or something. It's really odd.

And sometimes, you have dreams that you actually feel. I will dream of flying - or falling normally - through the sky and in a split second I wake up and can feel it. Only for a short period of time but its just a rush, sort of like adrenaline.
It's amazing.

I think there is a secret power behind dreams, something we know absolutely nothing off.

Can anyone elaborate on this? Do any of you know, or have similar experiences to mine?

Thanks,
Jacob

I am by no means a dream expert but I do share the same some of the same experiences. My dreams are vivid. Most of the dreams that I remember leave with me with a feeling similar to one after riding a roller coaster. Also I have what I call sitcom dreams. Let me explain. For the past 5 or so years I have had this same style of dream that each time I expierence it, it is like the next chapter, or the next episode. I am always running from what appears to be police. Running through yards, through buildings, etc. Now in addition to my running, there are other events as well. For example, one time I stopped running to duck behind a parked car because there was a plane crashing and bombs exploding everywhere in front of me. Another time I was in my parents front yard and there was this extremely low flying jet black military style plane flying buy spraying a red colored chemical over us. I remember screaming to everyone to look, but no one could see it but me. Anywho, each time I have the dream somehow I can tell I am running from the same people but on a different day.

Another dream that I had more than once was a dream where I was flying. I vividly remember standing in a room telling everyone that I could fly and no one believing me. So I backed up into a corner and started to flap my arms slowly and I started to rise. I would rise with my back against the wall and up to the ceiling and then forward. I can feel that back on my wall even now as I describe it. Each time I would dream the flying dream, there was always someone doubting that I could fly just to have me prove them wrong.

I am not sure what dreams are. I have no clue. But thanks for your post it gave me a reason to share some of my stories. =)

Dreams are amazing. I think I do some astral travelling in my dreams, because once in a while when something wakes me up suddenly I feel half in/half out of my body. It usually goes away after a few, but when I'm really sick, tired or in a lot of pain, it will stick around... like I can acknowledge that I'm awake and looking around my room, yet most of me is somewhere else. It happened all the time when I was little, but not so much anymore.

I used to have a lot of premonitions when I dreamed, but for some reason I haven't been remembering them as often. When I do it usually involves some contact with repressed memories, which makes sense because that issue is more prominent in my life at the moment.

My partner is the type that is very sensitive but doesn't realize it... however the only time he can give anything spiritual credit is when he dreams, because he often dreams things that will come true, down to every tiny detail. It's even gotten to the point where he can tell the difference between one of these kinds of dreams and a "normal" dream.

It's such an interesting topic.

OH! And as for flying dreams, I used to have a recurring dream (well, different settings, but always the same theme) where I knew I could either fly or turn into a bird, but when I started flying I could only get a few feet off the ground, and it took so much effort. I would get frustrated because I knew I could do it but it just wasn't happening.

I think it's a psychological thing, a way of the mind trying to free itself.

I've been interested in the dreaming world since a young child and so typical of me - ran to the library and gobbled up every book I could find...and that was preteen years.

I credit my ability to recall dreams to this early education. It's best for me to linger a bit upon waking and I can 'catch' the dreams with more ease. I started out as most do...always keep a pen and paper next to your bed. Even if you're not quite awake or it's the middle of the night, try to scribble down key words that might trigger memory upon being fully awake.

When I was in the professional world, I'd concentrate on a problem I was having and ask my higher self for guidance before sleeping. Many times I'd dream of a solution or alternative. This works well with personal problems too. Just ask to have the answer revealed to you in dreams.

I dream in color. I can sometimes smell. I've had precog dreams with verification (telling someone about the dream and then the dream comes to pass) I've mentioned these in several threads but, it's not often - it's usually in regards to a death of someone close to me. I didn't dream about 9/11 or Katrina - it seems these precog dreams are directly linked to me. I chalk it up to my higher self preparing mentally for what I'm about to endure.

I've spoken a few times with those that have passed on. My father came to me in a dream soon after he passed. It was so vivid and I can still remember it some 18 years later. I've mentioned this in another thread too but, it's interesting so... He came to me and sat on the side of my bed. After some general chit chat he said something big would happen the year the Colts won the superbowl. Me and my dad bonded over football for whatever that's worth. The Colts didn't have winning seasons for many years. Long story short - the year they did win, my mom passed away. I'm just glad I told a few people about that dream before it became reality. I encourage all who even think they may have had a precog dream - after having one, mention in casual conversation to someone close to you saying 'hey, I had the strangest dream' you don't have to mention it was possibly precognition. Then, if it does come to pass - you have someone to validate your experience.

And then the experience I least like to talk about cuz it sounds a bit out there. I was reading a book about the Pleiadians and had read a few things on ATS. So, I gave something a try. Everynight before I'd sleep I'd say that I was open to any positive diminsional entity or alien contact. After about three days I did have a strange dream...I dreamt I was standing in the middle of a group of very tall, Nordic looking individuals who looked regal and had long locks of hair. They also had a golden glow. I can't recall what they were saying but they weren't speaking to me. They were aware of my presence but thought it not of consequence, like I was a fly on the wall. Now, having said that -albeit a vivid dream, I must conceed this could all be suggestion from reading before I sleep. It was exciting none the less and I continue to practice today. This was just a few weeks ago.

I think there are a lot possibilities in dreams. From traveling to other diminsions, out of body experiences, communing with the dead, predicting personal future, answer to our current personal troubles but we should also be mindful how our day to day activites play so heavily in our dreams. I love picking apart the symbolism. I've recently had some unwanted attention on ATS and got strange U2Us that there were everything to disinfo agents to psi ops working in my thread and on me. I thought it a bit paranoid so I brushed it off. I took a nap and in a dream people were outside my house trying to break in. I looked out the window and made faces at them LOL

One of the coolest things about becoming consciously involved in your unconscious mind while sleeping is that sometimes...you can be aware you are in fact dreaming and take control within the dream. It's an awesome feeling. My least favorite is lucid dreaming...dreaming you woke up got ready and out the door only to wake up, realize it was dream, and do it all over again. Bummer!

I'll tell you that I can feel pain to the fullest extent while I'm dreaming and remember it when I wake. I still have not met anyone else who has this happen to them either.

It's said that this is where you picture your dreams: Pineal Gland
Not many people know but the Pineal gland has rods and cones in it like your eyes. So it is literally your third eye.

Yeah!
Thats exactly what I get, half in / half out of your body.
I always seem to wake up suddenly and sometime out of breath, but not in a bad way, and have a really good feeling after it.
I want to know what this is.

And yeah that sounds quite interesting.
It could of been a contact but then again, maybe just something from the books.
Can you normally see Auras?
You mention them with a golden glow, which would of been an aura.
What is the thing you did every night before sleep?
I would be interested in doing it and seeing what it does to another person.
Thanks
Jacob
