well I bought my first and let me tell you, I love that gun
so much power in your hand, bought a snub stainless taurus,
throws out about a foot and half flash when fired, and litterally blows
# apart!!!

Do you love your Mag? Tell me about yours...

Glad to hear you chose the .357 over a semi.
I've got a Taurus 617 snubby in blued steel and it's a great little gun. Mine has the ported barrel, not sure if they still offer that option, but it really helps with muzzle flipage.

You might want to think about getting a .357 lever rifle too. Same ammo options (38 or 357) better range, and really fun to shoot. I've got an old Rossi Puma from the 50s or 60s that is dead on accurate with the iron sights.

Congrats on getting a real gun, 9mm's are for gang bangers and pansies

I like mine. it is a Dan Wesson Pistol Pack wit 4 different length barrels and 2 different style grips and tools to change the grips and barrels. It is all fitted in a nice briefcase.

I just inherited my Dad's S&W 357 magnum model 19. I have not shot it yet but I cannot wait to do so. I will mainly use it for self defense because I want to make sure the the person is dead when I shoot. This way I avoid any unnecessary law suits.

THe model 19 S&W was my first 357 Magnum and it is a sweet shooting piece.... My ex bitch got it in the divorce along with everything else but the bills.... Does anyone know how to wish some one dead? I have been trying for years but I must not be doing it right.

I have a Ruger 357 "Police Service Six" in stainless steel with some durable Hogue grips. The shape is not as attractive as the newer GP series, but it is still a beast. It has fixed sights which cannot be removed as they are part of the frame. The fixed sights were a downside to me at first, but found they are dead on at 25 yards, and the design is rugged enough to depend on it being accurate when I need it no matter how much it might get banged up in certain survival situations.

I have several backup autos but I always have my 357 loaded and ready to go. I don't like leaving rounds in my autos because I do not want to wear the springs out in the mags by having them sit for years with no use. Springs could weaken enough to render it unreliable.

Having the ability to fire 38 Special rounds out of it is also plus when choice in ammo becomes thin, as it has been lately. I hoard 357 and 38 Special when I can afford it.

I let my wife shoot it the other day for the first time(second time to fire a gun in her whole life - first was 22 rifle LOL). I placed five 38 Specials in it and one 357 for the final shot. She was fine and dandy until the last shot.
Her face lit up like she just crapped her pants and she dropped the gun.............Then I got slapped....

Thankyou for replying, its really wierd falling in love with a gun, I love its stainless steel, love it's blasts of light, love it's recoil, love what it does when it smacks into something with a 158 grain xtp.

enjoyed every response.

Gotta love sending the Magnum rounds down range but I use down loaded Specials in my S&W 686 6" mostly and its hell accurate.

Congrats TS! I am a huge fan of the affordable Taurus revolvers. Although I have a Desert Eagle .357, I recently bought a Dirty Harry "Make My Day" gun = .44 Magnum. It shoots out a freakin cannon ball and I love it.

Again, congrats and give em hell!

indeed,
sense will eventually become an offense under NWO.
"Equilibrium" showed it pretty well.

Oh me to me too! This girl LOVES the .357 Magnum.

It was the first firearm I ever bought, and is hands down my abosolute favorite. I developed a taste for revolvers when Dad bought me one as a Sweet 16 present - S&W .357 K Frame (Model 19) 6" - honest to goodness the BEST revolver I ever shot - until I bought my own. It was silver, so I found it got dirty quite easily and I was always cleaning it.

When i turned 21 I bought myself a S&W .357 N Frame (Model 28) 6" (I got it in the blue finish). I actually like the larger frame as opposed to the K - and I switched out the wood grips that it came with for the black rubber ones. It's a very sleek looking gun. (Man I can't wait for summer and the outdoor range to be groomed for practice).

I shoot both .38sp and .357's in both guns - but I have an over-abundance of .38's so that's what I've been primarily shooting. You can definitely feel the lighter load between both calibres.

Gotta say though, I reccomend the .357 to anyone and everyone who wants to have a pleasant first experience with shooting handguns. The first handgun I ever shot was a S&W 9 mm - it doesn't even compare to the .357. In my opinion of course...

I DO!!
Ruger 357 Blackhawk
SWEET!
I am a girly girl and I love my BH
It kicks but not so much for me to lose accuracy. Men see me perform with this gun and get aroused. Thats not unusual but shooting THIS gun does the same thing to me.
I have shot numerous times the 454 casull, but for me, I'll take my 357 ANY day
PURRRRRRthhhh
PS and with my cyanide tipped bullets, I dont even hafta hit them in a kill zone, its all a KILL ZONE
LOL!!!

Oh! How do you like the Ruger? I haven't ever shot one (I'm a primarily S&W owner) but I have heard good things about Ruger's...

How's the smoothness? How's the trigger? I've been told to broaden my collection lol, but just wondering first hand - how you would rate it.
