President Bush, aka Our National Embarrassment, was at the podium the other day, and after a glean of the official White House transcript found here, I can almost sympathize with the Bush Sycophants: the energy it must take to rationalize this idiot into some sort of support worthy icon must be tremendous!

"This has been tough weeks in that country." [The first words out of his mouth. ]

"Most of Iraq is relatively stable."
[I guess it's true what they say about him not reading the papers. ]

"One year after the liberation of Iraq, the revenues of the oil stream is pretty darn significant."

"Secretary of State Powell and Secretary of State Rumsfeld, and a number of NATO defense and foreign ministers are exploring a more formal role for NATO."
[Has anybody briefed Rummy about his new responsibilities? ]

"This is a guy who was a torturer, a killer, a maimer; there's mass graves. I mean, he was a horrible individual that really shocked the country in many ways, shocked it into a kind of -- a fear of making decisions toward liberty."
[Huh!?]

"I said, compared to how I felt at the time, after the attack, I didn't have that -- I also went on to say, my blood wasn't boiling, I think is what the quote said. I didn't see -- I mean, I didn't have that great sense of outrage that I felt on September the 11th. I was -- on that day I was angry and sad: angry that al Qaeda had -- well, at the time, thought al Qaeda, found out shortly thereafter it was al Qaeda -- had unleashed this attack; sad for those who lost their life."
[Well said! ]

"The other thing I look back on and realize is that we weren't on a war footing. The country was not on a war footing, and yet the enemy was at war with us. And it's -- it didn't take me long to put us on a war footing. And we've been on war ever since."
[Ah, the glorious rhetoric of statecraft! ]

"But there was a -- nobody in our government, at least, and I don't think the prior government, could envision flying airplanes into buildings on such a massive scale."
[This is pure bulls**t. A flat-out lie.]

"Of course, I want to know why we haven't found a weapon yet."

"This is a -- these are people that have -- the gut leaders have made the decision to put people in harm's way for the good of the world. And we appreciate that sacrifice in America."

"Some of the debate really center around the fact that people don't believe Iraq can be free; that if you're Muslim, or perhaps brown-skinned, you can't be self-governing and free. I strongly disagree with that."
[There you have it. To disagree with Preznit Dubya is to hate brown-skinned people. You heard it here first!]

"Look, nobody likes to see dead people on their television screens -- I don't. It's a tough time for the American people to see that. It's gut-wrenching. One of my hardest parts of my job is to console the family members who have lost their life. It is a -- it is -- it's a chance to hug and weep and to console and to remind the loved ones that the sacrifice of their loved one was done in the name of security for America and freedom for the world."

"See, I happen to believe that we'll find out the truth on the weapons. That's why we've sent up the independent commission. I look forward to hearing the truth, exactly where they are. They could still be there. They could be hidden, like the 50 tons of mustard gas in a turkey farm."

And if it's irony you want, you got it in spades:

"Now is the time, and Iraq is the place, in which the enemies of the civilized world are testing the will of the civilized world."

"A country that hides something is a country that is afraid of getting caught."

"One thing is for certain, though, about me -- and the world has learned this -- when I say something, I mean it. And the credibility of the United States is incredibly important for keeping world peace and freedom."

I love that one. He hasn't been to one funeral for our fallen soldiers, yet it's the hardest part of his job to console families?

I've been watching dub closely since I saw the speech he made during the National Governor's Convention earlier this year. I think it was on C-span, I not a normal viewer but saw him while surfing through the channels and stopped to watch the "show". The camera shots were unusually close and all you could see was his face most of the time. It was during one of his many "pause for applause" points did I notice something..frightening, I watched dub's lips stretch tightly, then he started a chewing/biting tic, then his face looked as though it trembled, almost so intense that it wasn't moving, more like a seizure . I was continually amazed throughout the speech to see this over and over.

Since then I have seen this same behavior, although not quite as often, and lately it seems less obvious , actually that particular speech seemed to be the peak and he's been gaining control over it since.

I normally would have kept this to myself to avoid ridicule until I read a recent article that confimed my theory. I'm not claiming this article is factual (not familar with the source) but it does back up what I saw on C-span and a few other instances.
prisonplanet.tv...

If you get a chance to watch that c-span footage , check it out , you'll see what I'm talking about.
c-span

It's the 3rd one down.
