This is very scary stuff, a foreign police force on uk streets is definatley not in the interest of the British Public. There are also some links provided to Infomation regarding the death penalty which is added into the Lisbon Treaty which states the death penalty will be used for people who riot and cause civil unrest and also in the case of war. Also links to UK soldiers being asked wether they would open fire on UK citzens.

The xenophobic and bigoted Daily Express.

I would not pay attention to any material they write. Theorectially speaking, we have an European arrest warrant already - so a federal police force would make sense.

Foreign police officers would not be patrolling British streets, however.

I find it increadible that the Government are protesting about this - it is just lip service - articles like this one facilitate a slow drip of information to citizens in the UK - most of which do not have the vaguest clue what is going on.

They have no right to protest - they signed the Lisbon Treaty (wihout fair democratic referendum) - which clearly outlines the EU policing measures and the inordinate amount of power that these officers will have- total power backed by "Corpus Juris"- they can legally kill without having to be brought to justice for their actions - They will effectively be above the law!!

The EU have over 107000 regulations, some of which are very bizarre, any normal law abiding person could be breaking many of them inadvertently every day,
EU laws are designed to criminalise law-abiding individuals – and instigate a constant fear of breaking the law because the police force have “Corpus Juris”.

I read the Lisburn Treaty, both English and German version.

The section regarding the police using lethal force - please read the text. In the event of no option being available - example being suicide bombers - the police have the right to use lethal force. Same with hostage situations.

This does not give the police a "license to kill."

Jesus, read the friggin' treaty.

The day you have another country's police patrolling your streets is the day you quit being in charge of your own country!

my god plolice and all forms of controll just make me angry.now we got civil enforcement officers .bin inspectors'dog poo inspectors,and every day in england is , grass your neighbour day,next euro plod comes a goose stepping

I hope you read it in conjuction with the initial 6 treaty's which are also included within it-

Nowhere does it say - it can be used on suicide bombers only - without clear distinction it is open to abuse - subjectivity makes it very dangerous - as does the removal of a right to habeas corpus - along with sneaky measures to bring back the death penalty

well might me handy in the USA they have the FBI we don't have that branch in government .. so Eu states might have a combined force against drugs and people smuggling

It would be a novelty to have any Police officers patrolling our streets.

They're few & far between.

Current laws make a mockery of justice. Commit a crime, hop on the Eurostar and that's you a free man for years. Wouldn't it be advantageous if a British police officer could simply fly over to Paris & arrest a suspect without all the paperwork required ?

I bet the Express were torn over which editorial angle to take with this: Evil Brussels Meddling or 'Polish Police Undercutting British Police Wages Whilst Living 25 to a House and Claiming Benefits. Raise The Drawbridge Now, Gordon!'.

The Lisburn Treaty gives examples of when lethal force can be used, did you read that part or did you allow the Daily Express to read it for you?

Death penalty can only be used during times of or leading up to war, it will not be introduce for criminal cases.

As an distant observer, I have a question.

Are you not already in a 'state of war'? In fact, are you not always in a state of war when combating terrorism, corruption, illegal drug trade, human trafficking, etc?

Or is this a state of war that the EU proper has to declare?

I suppose you are satisfied that the treaty of Lisbon, although not accepted by much of the actual population stands on acceptable legal grounds. But tell me, once a non-citizen can enter your life and arrest you by virtue of authority vested in him by an agency over which you nation has virtually no control, what is the point of national sovereignty? In fact, what's the point of a national identity?

I don't mean these questions as a confrontation to your resolve, but as a request to understand how you can reconcile yourselves to this Union's authority to extend its police authority over your citizens?

In theory, we could execute those who leave the United Kingdom and fight for the Taliban. It would be controversial and would need an European Court decision on the matter.

There is a good website (particularly for those of us in the UK) where you can read the treaty along with details of the many many changes we can expect in the coming years.

Not enough people are aware of the implications of the Lisbon Treaty - spread the word
