Jefferson County is appealing Monday's Circuit Court judge ruling that declared the county's occupational tax illegal. But appealing the judge's ruling isn't the most important thing that must happen. The Legislature can and must step in to save the tax. After all, this mess wasn't of the county's making, but of the Legislature's. And only the Legislature has the power to fix it. Lawmakers, a decade ago, passed a controversial bill repealing the occupational tax with the worst of motivation -- greed and spite. Their act now threatens the county's financial survival

Voting is not the problem. It doesn't matter who you vote for you are voting for the same. Our Republic is doing what all Republics do. Once taken over by the greedy they fall.
