I was pretty sure the Obama administration was going to be a disaster, but the fact that they're even floating the idea of making veterans pay for their own treatment just leaves me speechless... especially when you look at all the handouts and earmarks the government has been wasting money on lately.

I figure I paid for my treatment when I left my blood on the sands of Iraqback in Gulf War 1. This whole idea is shameful and pathetic.

This is bull crap.

This is going to drive the Military away from him even further. I swear watching this administration is like watching a really bad reality TV show.

Why do most democrats hate our troops? What is there deal. Maybe if they started respecting the people that sacrifice their lives in order for them to come up with these hair brained ideas, they might earn some respect.

Ticks me off.

Well, unless the administration plans on paying both the premiums and the deductable, I'd be getting on the phone to the White House and calling shenanigans on this thoroughly offensive idea.

Last time I looked, "acts of war" was an escape clause for the insurance industry, anyway.

It is just shameful that the Government would think of doing something like this. It is also pathetic for some people in the governement to back something like this. To think that they sent you guys to do their bidding and that you were wounded for their cause. You guys need all of the care that you folks can get. Should you veterans be forced to pay for the care that you receive if you are wounded?

No.

That is because you were sent on a mission by the United States Government that you could have been wounded. In your case Crow, you were wounded during battle. I feel that it should be the soleresponsibility of the United States Government to provide care for wounded veterans. Think of it in this sort of manner Crow. Most likely, the insurance companies will come up with some excuse not to. If the VA Clinics/Hospitals are to only provide care based on insurance, then who's going to provide care for you and thousands of other vets like you?

Most likely, the insurance companies will come up with some excuse not to.

So was it a tick-off when the Republicans did not allow any depictions of the coffins of the war dead they were returned to their homeland? How about that for respect?

Why not just decry the action without trying to make it a partisan issue? You've just finished up an 8 year train wreck...I'd leave party politics out of it for a while and if you have a beef, deal with it in and of itself.

Obama has a long way to go before he equals the abysmal record of his predecessor. Try dealing with Republican shame first...then go hunting Democrats. Just my humble opinion, of course.

I'm not a republican or a democrat, but the Democrats have an abysmal track record with not supporting the troops. That was prevalent over the past 8 years.

As far as the ban on not photographing the coffins of our dead troops, I'm not sure how I feel about that. I guess if the families want them to be aired on national TV then that is their choice. I think it emboldens the enemy if the media started plastering pictures of our dead troops all across the TV and internet. Also it gives content for propaganda by anti-war groups. But ultimately it should be up to the troop's families.

As far as this is concerned, they are already off to a bad start. You'd have to be blind to not see this Administration doesn't know right from left and up from down.

Then this guy comes out with a lame brain idea, whether he was authorized by Obama to float this idea in a public forum or not has yet to be determined. Either way most of the people he has chosen for his cabinet are so far left it is impossible for them to see over the horizon.

Oh. Here's how we handle those things up here.

www.esnips.com...

As to the issue at hand...you don't have to be of a particular political persuasion to screw up. But as long as those inevitable screw-ups are identified as partisan efforts, then they're not gonna get fixed. Nor is the bigger picture going to be addressed. It weakens y'all. Divide and conquer, right?

What do you mean??

We can't afford to take care of our veterans when we have to take care of every other bum out there!

That money needs to be spent on more welfare and free health care for everyone who contributes nothing.

Way to go Obama!

I'm really not surprised though...Obama doesn't like veterans. All they do is air raid villages and kill civilians.

Maybe Obama wants to use that money for his planned "youth corps". Sounds about right for the dems, screw the real soldiers and use the money to build your own domestic force.

This is sickening to read about.

Indeed...so what are you going to do about it? Or what have you done about it up to now?

I'm a Canadian.

Not up to me to fix America. I'll worry about Canada first and US second.
Although to be truthfull, if America falls its drags Canada down with it. Just the sad reality of it.

Every time I think Obama has done the stupidest thing ever he raises the bar. This guy just has no clue. He is going to bend over every company and private citizen to push through his quasi-socialist agenda. Sure lets bail out wall street, the banks, the newspapers and the automakers. But take care of the men and women who put their asses on the line to fight for the men and women who can't, nah, let private industry pay that bill. This is a new low point for the US.
