This is part of the "discussion" between Ari Fleischer and Chris Matthews on Hardball yesterday.

Source

Fleischer: "After September 11th having been hit once how could we take a chance that Saddam might strike again? And that's the threat that has been removed and I think we are all safer with that threat removed."

Matthews: "I'm proud that we no longer have an administration that uses that kind argument...and the American people are too."

Fleischer said several times that, thanks to Bush, we have a world without Saddam in it and Obama should be thankful to Bush for that. That's a matter of opinion, but the above quote about Saddam striking again really kind of blew me away. I know there is a small percentage of people that still believe Saddam had something to do with 9/11, but for a major "in the know" former White House press secretary to come right out and say that really takes the cake! He's still pushing the "Saddam/9/11" connection! That's insane.

And he calls Chris Matthews "shameful".

I didn't see this...

I am sure Fleischer is on some sort of repair W's image tour. This is not suprising to me anyways, it has always appeared that the admin viewed truth and actuality as a road bump of sorts.

Once a manipulating cheater, always a manipulating cheater IMO.

At least we got SADAM for attacking us on 9/11!

I can't say I'm to surprised at Ari's statement. Ideology is like a drug that clouds men's mind and shields it from reality.

Also I feel that Ari is of the mind set that if you tell a lie often enough; it morphs magically into the truth.

I saw this exchange; it was quite heated. Ari also stated that it was never said by the Bush Admistration that they (the Admin) ever said Iraq was harbouring Nukes. This rationality was used as one of the reasons we should go to war. It was in fact mentioned by Cheney and Condi.

Ari looked like a puppet fool.

I saw the exchange as well and Ari stated over and over they the Bush administration never claimed Saddam had nukes. Strange as I recall Cheney and Rice state that "fact" more than once. I'm sure the record supports this as well. I admit Mathews sometimes talks over his guests but he called Ari on his revisionist history a number of times.
