Hi,

My girlfriend has recently been diagnosed with early onset rheumatoid arthritis, she is 25yrs old.

I have to say it is not easy, especially seeing her in so much pain every single day, the doc has prescribed her Voltaren 50, she has taken it a few times but says it doesn't help too much, and that it makes her feel sick and makes her tired. she will go back to her doc again soon to talk about it.

But i wanted to speak to some of the members here, who might be dealing with this themselves, or knows someone who also has this.

How do they deal with it, how do they ease the pain without overmedicating, is there something more natural out there that is proven to help ?

Any advice here is welcome, and will be taken to her doc for discussion.

Thanks in advance for you help

i wonder if it would respond favorably to METHYL B-12? i cured horrible diabetic neuropathy with it. it was originally discovered as a treatment for children with autism and the doctor soon discovered it was also relieving and reversing the damage of diabetic neuropathy.

essentially, vitamin b-12 has several uses the body employs. it requires various chemicals to fully utilize these uses. one of the chemicals apparently breaks down parts of b-12 into a form called METHYL B-12. the methyl b-12 form is used by the body to regenerate nerves, specifically damaged nerves. autistic chlidren are born without the chemical to break down b-12 into its methyl form, so when their nerves begin to die off from normal wear and tear, they aren't replaced or regenerated, leading to autism. a similar mechanism comes into play when the insulin hormone malfunctions in a diabetic. apparently it plays a role in the extraction of methyl b-12 and in its absence, when the nerves are damaged, they don't regenerate.

i'm not sure what the medical causes of rheumatoid arthritis are or if lack of methyl b-12 nerve regeneration has anything to do with the problem. but if the mechanism is the same or ends up being the same, it might help?

here's a pub med report on its use in rheumatoid arthritis patients
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov...
here's one that discusses methyl b-12 and other b vitamins in treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, related to reducing homocysteine
www.vrp.com...

p.s. for nerve regeneration in diabetic neuropathy and autism, for example, t can't be just any b-12 vitamin. it HAS to be METHYL B-12, this due primarily to the fact the body is apparently not breaking that part of b-12 down properly and the nerves which require the methyl form to regenerate, die and never regenerate, as a result. so the methyl b-12 form has already had that process done that your body is not doing on its own. one of the big issues, however, is related to the gut, and the inability of some people with such problems to absorb ingested vitamins in their intestinal tract. for this reason, the issue has been addressed as most successful when given intravenously. i just take methyl b-12 tablets from the health food store.. someone else might need the shots.

There's a website called "The People's Pharmacy" that discusses some of the better alternative and complementary therapies. The folks who run the site are well respected and national lecturers.

Rheumatoid Arthritis, 100% an immune system condition and a serious one in my opinion.

The body attacks its own tissue when poisons or toxins are embedded in the tissue or have deformed the body's working enzymes. This causes the body not to recognize its own tissue and to treat it as a harmful invader.

I think Rheumatoid Arthritis is increasingly serious because of many factors but one of the most pressing problems is it's progression and the use of increasingly stronger pharmaceuticals to achieve a satisfactory quality of life over time.

Mainstream medicine (allopathy), is ignorant in the areas of nutrition and detoxification, and blames the immune system rather than toxins for the disease.

I believe nutrition and detoxification has everything to do with Rheumatoid Arthritis just like a lot of other chronic diseases. I suggest taking a look at this video...

Gerson Therapy

I think it is essential viewing for everyone and deals with fundamental truths about food as it relates to health.

I also think ignoring or downplaying its importance to health will always result in further deterioration as one "treats" symptoms with drugs only, rather than the underlining causes.

I suggest everyone who would rather use home made remedies than pharmaceuticals to pic up this particular book.

1000 Remedies They Don't Want You To Know About.

It is very informative and has provided me and my son (who has an auto-immune disease) alot of alternatives to most common problems such as joint pain and boosting your immune system to protect against infections and colds.

Don't wanna solicite the book or anything, it's just a very good read with some very good information.

Did you know that an apple is about 85% more effective at waking you up in the morning than a cup of coffee? Think about it!

A friend of mind has had much success using cymatherapy for her Fibromyalgia.

I realize it is not the same thing, but I see more and more instances of people trying this and having success, than any other alternative healing application.

The one story that sticks out is that of John Stewart Reid. He is an acoustics engineer who was studying the Great Pyramids and spent a couple of weeks in the King's Chamber to see how Cymatics worked inside. He almost cancelled his trip due to a horrible back pain - but persisted (with help) and while inside doing his experiments, he noticed that suddenly his back pain was gone. From what I understand this led him into sound therapy (not a cure - but an assistive approach).

I know little about it, unfortunately, but a quick google search brought up a plethora of websites.
