A proven conspiracy...

Like most around here I find myself drawn to ATS on a daily basis...

What I would like to explore on this thread is what would happen if people on this site proved beyond doubt the validity of a conspiracy.

Maybe the great minds on this site should get together and put forward a list of guidelines that we could follow to ensure maximum impact with any possible disclosures.

For example, what if someone uncovered the fact that a terrorist attack (be it a set-up or real) was imminent. What if evidence uncovered on ATS went as far to suggest a time and a place? What channels should be followed?

What if we proved beyond any doubt on ATS that a particular nuclear power plant was leaking radiation? Could ATS be the outlet to start a political campaign to close that plant down?

The point I'm trying to make is that I think a site like ATS could be a insight into our future... it brings the power back to the people but how do we utilize this gift?

I believe the Internet as we know it today was not planned. I think there is a small chance it could all be taken away from all of us in the not too distant future.

What I would like to see on this thread are ideas on how we could push ATS on to even greater heights.

Remember the power that newspapers in the UK had through the 70's and 80's. It has been suggested that newspapers won general elections... why? Because they became the voice of the people. When a newspaper pointed issues out to the public, and the public started to speak and the politicians realized that they had to listen.

Unfortunately for us the newspapers also manipulated the people. Newspapers and politicians began to play a game of "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours..." papers lost their credibility as the public saw through this facade during the late 90's and early 00's this coincided with the explosion of the Internet. I believe it was the start of the general public seeing the bigger picture.

Newspapers still have great power, although waining it is still immense. I remember the News of the World newspaper in England pushing forward with Sarah's law (like Megan's law in the USA). I remember the Sun newspaper sending letters to the Government about an abused boy called baby "P". Although not politically challenging topics they were worthy causes that deserved conversation from our Government.

We on ATS have a chance to set our own agenda and pursue our own causes... I believe we are entering exciting times. I think we owe it to ourselves to prepare properly for anything that we could be about to discover.

Here are a couple of suggestions just to get the ball rolling...

I would like to see a team of around 10 respected "debunkers" set up. Maybe with a nominated leader. Have elections once every 3 months to stop any corruption, ha, ha. Call them the A-Team and send them in to look for holes on any interesting claims.

Set up a campaign team... causes that have captured the ATS users imagination could be passed over to a selected campaign team... (elections once every three months). This campaign team could be people who have an interest in politics and could maybe offer advice on laws and the best channels to raise questions officially. Hell after some of the pictures I've seen on ATS we could even chuck in a few photoshop/design experts to help with any potential poster campaigns!

I believe we have something very powerful on this site. It is ours if we want it... lets grab it with both hands.

i believe that the media in general influence elections because they present the facts in a certain way to manipulate the public.

lieing is a powerful weapon but it tends to backfire eventually. it's not a ood model to emulate.

I accept your point. But that is where the difference lies... not us.

We can become the media... we would have no reason to lie to ourselves.

I would like to find ways where ATS can help give ordinary people a voice.

Investigative journalism has always been celebrated... the politics of today has corrupted the media, the Internet gives people like you and me the chance to right that wrong.

ATS has the potential to uncover potential threats... If ever we do, I would like to look back and think we made a difference to a potential outcome.

I would like to discuss the best way to handle information presented to us on this site.

OK... something else to consider.

Imagine if ATS stumbled across a world changing piece of information. How would it be handled?

What would happen next. Would the future lie solely in the hands of the OP or would, could ATS become a collective force and break the story?

Safety in numbers springs to mind.

What can the ATS community offer to encourage disclosure?

Imagine if you were the OP that posted information that caused a stir?

Would the only advice, after 1,000,000 thread pages be "well yeah you've got a point, phone the police or the newspapers..."

Would that not make our objective of disclosure less likely to be obtained?

It would depend on what information was found.

I think it falls into the want to know category. The information is there if you want to know, otherwise you will most likely never find that information. You can't force people to read/watch the news. The truth is most people don't care to know whats going on the world.

What if the information found was medical and conflicted Government advice or modern convention?

What if the information was corruption of some sort?

The information might be something that with public support could be fixed.. but before fixing would upset many?

yeah but evidence for all of the above is abundant, how much money have governments loaned banks on our behalf? the same money could have wiped out global poverty many times over. it's widely accepted that big pharma withholds medicine in the 3rd world for profit.

the truth is, people don't care. all any of us can do is record the information in the hopes that others will read it. other thanthat, there's not much to hope for.

I agree with Techsnow here. Most people don't want to know what's going
on in the world today. And the ones that do, people here at ATS, . . . well
we need proof . . . evidence, something tangible to back up our claims.
( We rarely get it).
Some of the things we know for sure are occurring are kept from us
because the government seems to think that we don't have a need to
know.
(What are we I ask you, useless pawns in some secret game ?)

One of these days . . . disclosure, true disclosure, will wake up so many
people it'll be like a huge adrenaline rush . . the things we'll learn! Wow!!
