Well for the prepared folks they cached some long term long shelf life
food back when things started to vaguely resemble a stock market
crash and the headlines of today looked a lot like 1929.
For long term though it will be rabbit stew if you remember to
look for tularemia on the internal organs with a mask on.
For those who have a lot of white seeded amaranth they can eat
that and will surely get tired of it, but can trade it with other ppl.
Some will have bought heirloom seed kits and will have a wide
variety of veggies to eat.
As I live in Oklahoma I have no problem finding deer away from
the cities and that is not bad eating.
We also have some HUGE lakes here with loads of fish.
I will be doing the lazy man's fishing with trout lines and jug lines.
Snares also will get you some food. but they are illegal unless you
are in a survival situtation.
My weapons are 30-06, .22 LR, .45 ACP so I can defend myself
and take down big and small 4 legged game.
If I want some bird meat I can just set a cage trap baited with some
tasty seed.
Good Luck to you all !
