Hi all, I am a long time reader of ATS and this is my first thread, let me know how it goes, and don't be too harsh.

I wanted to talk about chakra meditation and peoples experiences with it.

Over the past several weeks I've been doing some research and have started to do some simple meditation of my own. The little I have experienced I have found to be enlightening. I start by concentrating on openeing up my chakras, then concentrating on feeling an energy flow from my crown down through my root. After mabey a half hour or so I started to get the sinsation of being extremely large and small at the same time. It was very odd and hard to explain, but I think I felt as if I was seperate from my body, and that I just was. I felt almost as if my energy was seperate from my physical self. It started to intensify and at this point I kinda started to freak out a little bit and had to open my eyes (which actually was difficult) to bring my self back to reality.

I'm not sure if that is actually considered an out of body experience or what, but I would like to hear if anyone has had any similar expriences.
Also, any suggestions on how to continue, or if I was going about something the wrong way.

Oh and after I opened my eyes I did close them again and concentrated on closing my chakras

Thanks

Cheers

I have felt that out of body experience thing only when I was experimenting with lucid dreaming for couple of weeks in the past, I never tried meditating because I find it very hard. It is quiet freaky when it does happen, the one wierd thing I remember was seeing a huge amount of light, I was awake yet sleep. I was being pulled upwards, and yes I clearly remember it was some force that was pulling me upwards, I was completely freaked out. Most people would find this funny and hard to believe, well if you haven't experience it then that is your problem

hi there. i have been doing meditation for a month or two now.

had some great experiences so far, but nothing too wild.

had the energy flowing nice throughout my body. had my body feel totally wieghtless like i was rising up.

also had a very awesome rocking motion while meditating, like being on a seesaw. (this was along with a strong heart pulsing in my head at the same time)

seen lots of lights and shapes too.

in general, been happier, calmer and still feel i have a long way to go though!!!

good luck with your meditation and dont rush it. just take it easy and naturally.
