Firstly, I'd like to say that this isn't an attack on the Catholic people, I believe if they believe and have faith in Christ they are saved.

This is only meant to warn them about Organized religion and how it can lead people away from the truth.

You don't need to confess to a priest, to pay for prayers, to follow man made traditions, worship idols, etc..

M't:6:7: But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Sound like hail Mary's and counting Rosary beads?

M't:6:14: For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
M't:6:15: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

You don't need a priest to forgive you.

Ac:10:34: Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Ac:10:35: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

God doesn't respect people, he respects faith and righteousness. No need for popes, priests, etc.

If the Church decides they'd like a Deacon, they should be married, so they don't fall to temptation, which we hear about regularly.

1Tm:3:8: Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
1Tm:3:10: And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
1Tm:3:12: Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
1Tm:3:13: For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Hopefully the Catholics realize I mean well and am concerned for them. This isn't intended to say they are any less of a people.

Also, if you wish to debate this with me, make sure you quote scripture to back up EVERY claim you make. Preferably from a KJV version of the Book.

1Th:5:21: Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

God Bless.

About the Hail mary. Catholics used to say 150 psalms I think every day, but changed it to a more simpler form because mary held in her body the fullfillment of that OT and the psalms.

and the hail mary is biblical. All of Luke is the exact part of the hail mary.

There is more signifigance behind it then vain repetition. What God means is that some souls will say the same thing over and over meaning ask for the same request and think they will be heard more.

" no respect people "

You got that qoute from acts. The same paul of acts says to obey your superiors and church leaders. This is biblical. The word respect which means honor is also biblical.

what he means is to not respect people and get on their good side for gains sake. Always tell the truth.

" don't need a preist to forgive you "

John 20 says that specific apostles had power to retain and forgive sins. No man has any power to retain a sin but someone with a signal jurisdiction.

he gave them that power.

Hopefully the Catholics realize I mean well and am concerned for them. This isn't intended to say they are any less of a people

This is awesome!!!!!!!!

you see this is how we should act towards souls in other beliefs. always love them. Thanks.

I can learn from this too.

peace.

John 20

21Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

22And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

23Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

To sin is to make a mistake. To repent is to no longer make the mistake any longer, and to fix the mistake. Those who have the holy spirit are able to see the truth, and they are able to show people the errors of their ways, so that the person can see and understand that error, fix it(repent) and they will be forgiven.

Forgiveness is given automatically the moment you correct the mistake, or will no longer do it. Because then it is no longer an issue. You will no longer sow it, and so you will no longer reap it.

That is how you are able to forgive someone's sins. This is how Jesus forgives everyone's sins, because in his example he gives the way and path to fixing our mistakes(repenting).

I'm not Catholic and think similarly as you but the vain repetitions could just mean doing the same thing over and over again, for the reason that I can do what I want just ask forgiveness.

The prayer that is meaningful is heard. If it is empty and done because father so and so told you to say it is meaningless. Just my opinions.

Catholics I have nothing against you. I just personally believe that of all sects of Christianity Catholicism is one of the most corrupted by men saying they are of God but really aren't.

I agree with you, but this seems more like a targeted anti-Catholic rant than anything sincere

Where's the rant then? Catholics believe in the Bible, I am showing them with Biblical verse how some of their practices are wrong.

BTW it's not the catholic believers that I'm against, I consider them brothers.

[rant]
It's the Clergy that expects you to confess sins to THEM, and to listen to THEM, instead of solely Jesus Christ that irks me.
[/rant]

KK that was a rant
