Anyone remember in some really poor African country how scavengers opened an x-ray machine in an abandoned clinic and took out about a pound of
cesium? The ignorance about the stuff, the fact it glowed prettily in the dark, and the delayed affects of the radiation allowed it to be distributed
quite widely and terribly sicken many people before authorities stepped in. Simply throwing a bag of cesium powder on to the metro tracks in the
subway would paralyze a modern city's transportation system and could result in many casualties. And harmful radioactive materials are not extremely
hard to acquire.
