I have been considering this for quite a while, and lately, I've started to rethink my plans.
I need to emphasize that this is my current line of thought, and I believe each person needs to do what's best for them.
Upwards of 60 million Americans own a gun, and roughly 50% of American households have at least one gun within.
Yet, at the first sign of trouble, we are prepared to run away, leave everything behind, except that which we can stuff in our BOB's/BOV's?
Day after day, I read the threads on here, and inevitably, someone posts how prepared they are. It goes something like this:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have my 3 Ar-15's, w/ 30,000 rounds, and twenty 30rd mags.
I have 2 Ak-47's w/ 20,000 rds, to back up the Ar-15's.
I have 2 1911's (.45) and 2 Glocks (9mm) w/ over 40,000 for my pistols.
I have a Mossberg 550, and over a million 000# buck shells for it.
Add to that, my Molle systems, tactical vests, and level III armor.
When “they” come down my street, I’ll grab my BOB, throw it into my BOV, then head for the hills, where I have enough food and water, etc. buried in 55 gal drums , to last for 10 years.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? Is this what we’ve become?
I, for one, have too many memories, too much blood, sweat and tears, invested in mine and my family’s home, to just bug out at the first sign of trouble.

I'm not certain, but I know what they had in their trousers...
